Any idea's?????

On my 2003 R1150GS I've noticed a small cromed "post" next to the electrical accessory socket. It has a rubber cap on it. Any idea's what it is or what it is used for??? There is nothing in the manual about it.

sounds like a BMW standard rubber cap holder 'chrome' version.

I believe the rubber cap can be used as a butt plug for small pet rodents

Has the cap got a + on it?

Connections for jump leads. Should be another on the rear of the l/h cylinder as a -ve and the one next to the power socket has a +ve on the rubber cap. It is connected to the starter solenoid's +ve contact - suggested by the guys at the off-road school as an improvement as they used to take the starter cover off to get at the same contact point when they were jump starting them.
