Any of you Tossers ride a pushbike?

The 810 has been pretty good, to be honest. I use the openstreetmap routable cycle maps as they are free and have lots of cycle paths included, but I did end up taking the road bike through a muddy woodland trail when I had the preferences set wrongly!

If mapping and navigation were more important than stats I would definitely go for the Touring as the map screen looks clearer, or there is the more recent Edge 1000 if you have plenty of money to throw at it.

If you can tolerate Basecamp you can send routes to all of them the same way as with the Zumo, but you can also use Garmin Connect to create courses (routes) and send them to your device instead and upload your journeys afterward to bore everyone.

Matt

Just bought a Touring off eBay with cover and forward mount thingy.Hardly a bargain but saved a bit on new price.

Ran over a child yesterday

On one of my favorite paved bicycle trails, a boy on a bicycle suddenly swerved into my path. I hit him broadside, knocking him flat on his side and rode right over him. That's the largest object I've gone over without crashing, the previous one being a German shepherd. :thumb

And I thought that Germans were usually big fellas .....

Did you stop and deal with the irate father?

The father apologized to me for his son's stupidity, then began shouting at the boy for not having listened to him.

Excellent parenting skills..... that'll really teach the kid a lesson much more than being run over by a tosser on a pushbike ever will :D

I know this is more for the roadies, but picked up this off ebay a couple of weeks ago. :thumb

It's two years old, but the guy who had it mustn't have ridden it more than half a mile, it's like brand new! The sealant in the tyres had set, I had to pull it all out!
So now to use it as Orange intended...

Looks good Mark. I don't have a road bike either but still keep my hand in on a hard tail on the simple trails round here ... :thumb2

Bloody whingeing cyclists were all over the road heading towards Deepcut this morning

Service stand.....

Would any of you lycra-clad tinkerers be prepared to recommend me a service/work stand? My back's not what it was and it must be so much more civilised not having to bend down to deal with the oily bits.

Fold-up if possible, obviously sturdy, I'm not after a brand name or something made from unobtanium.

Cheers. :aidan

If you have a wall in a garage etc, I have one that you can have if you like. It is called a 'Bike Buddy' and it fixes to a wall and then swings out when you need to use it (Clamps to your crossbar). You would need to pick it up though (SW London/Surrey). I don't have enough room in my garage to use it anymore so need to get a free standing one.

Thanks mate, but same for me too. Wall space is full of bikes and shelves. I need free standing too.

This is the one I use:

Top quality kit but not cheap. As used by a number of race teams. Fortunately I managed to find one at a vastly reduced price a couple of years ago :D
