Any of you Tossers ride a pushbike?

Lovely views of Exeter ship canal :beerjug:- did Devises to Bristol the other day with the 27 lock section - beautiful.

It is lovely down there and more importantly flat with a nice pub to lunch at.
Next week I'm going to go abit further and head out past Starcross towards Dawlish.
I like canals and rivers because I don't like hills, used to enjoy riding the camel trail from Wadebridge to Padstow and back when I used to take Euan to Polzeath on holiday.

I still like the idea off a very gentle cycling holiday mooching along the Mosel Valley.

Completed 30k on the road bike this morning and thoroughly enjoyed it. Off to the Forest of Dean tomorrow for a couple of days fun on the MTB and a nights camping under the stars:D

I'm in negotiations with a mate to buy a Raleigh road bike that he paid over 1200 quid for and has only used 3 times.

He wants 500 for it. I hope to get him lower yet but he's not for budging at the moment.

Well done you :thumb2 Saw a bit of the coverage on TV yesterday afternoon, looked like a great event.

Even the fit young spunker from my work said it was fecking hard!

Entries for the 2014 event open this coming Monday. darkhorse says he's up for it, but I don't think he could do it.

:D

Nice one Greg, well done. Was looking out for you on the Beeb but didn't see you.

Pleased you had a good day & the weather held.

My name will be going in the hat for next year.

First proper ride since holiday and getting the bike fitted properly... 15miles...felt great. got a PB up "Killer Hill".
lots of flies though, nightmare when trying to pull as much oxygen in as possible.

I'm aiming to complete the Wiggle Magnificat next year.....122mile EPIC.

That is my goal.

OK chaps. Could anyone in the know advise on mud guards. I have a Giant Defy Advanced, so no mud guard attachment points. What's the best option for some form clip on solution? Thanks.

30kms last week from Denby Dale to Langsett and back with a few on the Tour de France route..Then back home and up and down the hills at Gilnahirk and the Braniel with a seat malfunction!

What brakes do you have and is your bike a road bike

Big tour over the Castlereagh hills then? :D

Don't know if you got sorted Slimpickings but if it helps I have three bikes, road (a 90's Holdsworth criterium handmade) MTB and hybrid.

I use the hybrid for all touring, it takes luggage properly, less effort to move than the MTB and generally great for short rides around lanes for leisure.
Not as quick as the road bike but is more comfortable on typical country road, tow path/track surfaces that are found on typical leisure cycling routes.

So if you are still looking for something new I can strongly recommend the Dawes Karakum, a great bike, strong wheels, butterfly bars (comfortable) and when I got mine around £500, it still gets good ratings (see link below):beerjug:

I use two sided pedals with cleats to fit MTB shoes which you can walk in, also being two sided pedals you can flip them over and use them with trainers or just unclipped.
