Any of you Tossers ride a pushbike?

No pictures as yet, although mine is the same colour scheme. I'll take some pics this weekend and upload them.

Fantastic I look forward to seeing them, My bro just bought a Cube GTC Agree SLT (full carbon with electric gears).

tasty bugger!

Wow ! that is a seriously futuristic looking bike :thumb

It is, innit? When I first saw a Speed Concept years ago, I thought, "Surely that can't be a bicycle. Who could ride a thing like that?" :eek

Trek's video about its development:

Testing the Speed Concept yesterday

Result: aero helmets don't make you any faster; they just make you look like a twat.

Well I know I'm nowhere near the standard of some on here but I'm chuffed that after 4 months I'm doing 28 mile rides non-stop and have lost 22 pounds of blubber - just under the halfway point to achieve my first goal. And I've joined a new cycle club based in Devizes, Wilts which does social, group and chaingang rides every week - pm me if anyone wants details.

I haven't updated this thread as much as I should.
I do 10miles most week nights either out on the road or on the Turbo Trainer also have been mixing it up a bit with some MTB use too, I really enjoy riding both.

Yesterday I decided to take the Speed Concept out for its first long ride to see if I could tolerate sitting in the aero position for any significant length of time. Much to my amazement, the bike is actually more comfortable than my road bike. Most of the upper body weight is supported by the arm pads, which means no sore palms, wrists, or back. It also means that your bum is having to carry much less weight, so there's less discomfort there as well. After 47 miles, only neck muscle fatigue became an issue, but I'll get used to that in time. If someone had told me just a few weeks ago that you could actually be comfortable on one of these 'torture racks', I would have laughed at them. :eek

I did discover one serious problem with my bike, which is that it won't go nearly as fast as Fabian Cancellara's Speed Concept. I brought it back to the shop so the can find out what's wrong with it. Hopefully it's a warranty issue that they can sort out. :beerjug:

I can see your problem, schoolboy error. Your drinks bottle is of the non-aerodynamic type i.e. a cylinder with a purely circular cross-section.

You need an oval-oid item made from unobtanium. :thumb

That's Fabian Cancellara's drink bottle. :blast Mine is indeed a wind tunnel tested aero-bottle, albeit one made of plastic. :D
