Any of you Tossers ride a pushbike?

62 miles today but ended up with a cut lip and chin due to an overhanging bramble branch getting whipped back from the rider ahead.... a bit bloody.

I was surprised to discover that there's a Strava segment on one of my favorite routes that I was unaware of in which I held the 26th fastest time. So a week later I went back to try to improve on it. The result: 2nd place out of 715 riders. :thumb2

Good effort!! Do you use strava? I find it great to see if I`m improving any :D

No I don't, I do have a garmin 205, but I have not got around to downloading strava to the work computer, generally I use the iPad for the Internet, but can't connect the garmin to that, as I don't have a USB port!

Well, it's been about 5 weeks since i've been out on the bike so i'decided i need something to aim for..

It may be a little extreme but i've signed up for next years Etap du Tour:eek:..Got a source of focus now, need to get into shape and miles on the road. Starting off with a day at Swinley Forest on Sat to get the training going then i'll start riding into work from next week (23k each way).

This years Etap is starting in Pau in the French Pyrenees, 148 KM with 2 significant climbs, 1 of 17 KM with a final climb of 13 KM to the finish..:D

Got some work to do next year....

I'm also considering a Tuff Mudder event in Oct next year with a team from work:D

Just in from the pub quiz, total miles today 8 plus 2 pints of Guinness, popped some rechargeables in the four LED headlight, pretty good now, the spoke reflectors and 3M tape show up well too.

Spent the morning at Swinley Forest today. They've done a great job of changing the trails, started off at around 0915 and stopped at 1230. Covered around 19 miles all off road with some fairly technical climbs so all in all a good start to my training..

Llandegla tomorrow with the son I hope. Dying with a cold at the moment, but determined to make the most of the day.

Just about to head out on this contraption

I was out at the famous Santos trails yesterday, riding with a group of guys who were practicing for today's state championship race. I've made great strides in overall fitness from my road race training and managed to keep up with them on the easier trails, but when it came to the really difficult technical areas, I couldn't even keep them in sight. What an incredibly skilled group of riders they were. :bow :bow :bow
