Any preference on my next part?

Crud Catcher Fitted

Just to say, have fitted my nice shiny catcher today, went straight on, took 5 mins and looks great - top quality - job jobbed! :bounce1 Thanks Mark.

It inspired me to clean the header pipes with autosol and wire wool and these look miles better - result.

Good and an alternative to wire wool

Mate, pleased you are pleased.

Anyway, the header pipes will come up brill with a wet, fine, abrasive pad from B&Q - try it, they are really good!

Best regards, stay in touch if you want to help - it`ll be greatly appreciated. My GS is on the ramp and I`ll be starting on the heel guard next week with luck.

:D

Snap! I did the same. Fitted easy peasy. Mark kindly send me a personally signed version so I'm hoping he gets famous so it will have higher resale value.:JB

Good

Another happy tosser then!

Yes, I am now signing all my work as another step away for globalisation and all the bland, mass produced crap which is available :clap

Hi mate ,got the crud catcher yesterday and fitted today ,its a pity though because the bikes being put to bed for two months ,
Im off to work........ so the weather hopefully should be better for coming home . Im looking at going down to southern Spain if anybody is interested in a trip to the sun , Ive got a house down there so free digs if anybody wants to come. Around about mid April plymouth santander ferry ,then drive down

Ta

Hi Steve, ta for the update. I`d love to go to Spain but sadly I already have a trip booked with a good friend of mine.

I am, however, looking to get down to your part of the Country as I am looking to get a holiday home down there (near Looe).

Can you recommend any good B&B`s?

I have a mate who lives in Pego if you are ever that way on, I`ll know he`d welcome any passing visitors.

Mark,

I've PM'd you coz I would like a crud catcher for my 1200GSA.
How much and how'd you order one? :eek

Tazo, did you get my PM reply?

Did you get my reply mate?

Also, I have started dating and signing my work on the rear of each catcher and, if people want, putting their postcode on the back (a little security measure). It`s etched so it is permanent.

It certainly `personalises` the catcher and is another step away from the mass produced crap we tend to get nowadays.

let me know on your order if you want your postcode on eh?

A great idea there mark
Its a pity i never got it on mine , but hey You can do it on the next piece of kit I get from you
Looe B&Bs ......There are lots and it will be quiet when you get down ,what with the weather time of year recession blah blah so take you r pick , sorry i couldnt be more helpfull
regards
steve

ok and ta

Ok mate and ta for that, I don`t think i`ll get down till the better weather anyway.

If I do and we remain in touch I`d happily bring my engraver down and personally sign your crud catcher!

Chuffed

Hey Mark,

My catcher arrived Thursday (via fleabay) & fitted Saturday (5 mins tops)

Really pleased with the look and quality.

Positive feedback was of course forthcoming!!

Cheers

Re: ideas for future projects, ever thought about panniers and boxes?

I know there are a few manufacturers out there but they do appear to be popular with the two wheel brigade.

Rob :)

Chuffed is good

Rob, ta for that - I am very pleased as everyone has been kind enough to give good feedback. This isn`t all entirely for financial gain and appreciation goes someway to making it all worthwhile.

Re next item I am currently working on a heel guard and, at the same time, more crud catchers for the open panels on the flanks of the R1200GS below the seat.

Panniers could be considered but i dread to think of the development time - it takes me ages to get a basic thing as good as i want it to be - you can`t hurry love!

Best regards,

NEW PART ALERT

:drool

Loyal Fans, do not despair, the latest part has been done. I remain The New Messiah :bow and god knows how I manage to leave myself alone :nenau

But seriously, I am happy with it and ready to get it on the forum shortly.

`Her indoors is right arsey, seriously, been doing daft hours recently and have become near obsessed with the stuff. A Touring Company is going to display my art (sorry, work) at the Excel in London at the MCN show this year - I am right excited :bounce1

Watch this space........... I`ll get the images uploaded after tea.

new part thread name

Hi all, I have started a new thread for my brand new heel guard under the title `New product - R1200GS Heel Guard`

please take a look if you are interested in my next item (item aka work of art) :D

Defo big thumbs up to rear infill panels in stainless, not only stop the crud splatter on your legs but could look cool too - go for it Mark!

I've emailed you about this!

I`ll check my emails now. I did the heel guard and it fell flat

I`ll check my PM`s now.

I am half way through the infills! :D

I can only speak for myself Mark, but the heelguard doesn't excite me because there's a perfectly good one fitted as standard - well there is on my 1200GSA anyway. I bought the crudcatcher because there's a need plus there's nothing OEM. The crudcatcher by the way works a treat - I can hear the stones hitting it all the time I cross over any road grit.

I would be interested in the infills if it fitted with a Mudsling attached already. One thing I would do if possible is cut two holes in the L/H one if theres a space to fit a BMW and a cigarlighter sized socket which I could power directly of the battery. You would need to consider ESA/Non-ESA as well as you would need access on the R/H for non-ESA models.

A fancy stainless rear fender extender might be a thought to instead of black plastic. Just an idea.

Well said

Hi mate, yes I understand what you are saying and your points about the side infills are very generally valid even if you are just speaking for yourself. I am sure many other members would agree with you.

I have actually finsihed the Mark One side infill panels if you want to take a look at the post - I would really appreciate any further feedback.

Best regards and thanks again for your opinions.
