Anybody used a Micron Delta+ can on their 12GS - What does it sound like?
(It's got to sound better, I can't hear the original).

Looks like the answer is NO?!!
I wonder, is this because the accepted fitment is Remus or Akro, or because a Micron is no good?

Phil

IIRC Metal Mule end cans are made by Micron - not sure if they are the same as the Delta?

Simonbarnes has a MM on his ADV and it sounds really nice, good sound / tone without being too loud.

Looks like you could be the Guinea pig on that one...:D

You could always have a run out to the 'Carbon Can Comp.' nr. Fleetwood and have a look at their 1200 Can.

I know they developed one as a mate of mine lent his bike to allow them to create the fitment...:thumb

Right! I'm supposed to painting bedrooms today, but it's a nice morning and Fleetwood is only about ten miles away as the seagull flies and she won't mind, really, will she? eh! OK! where's me leathers?
Also, the metal mule sounds a good recommendation, that's what I want - not loud - just "fruity"

Had a Delta on my old CBR. Nice (but loud) burble at low revs, screamed like a Stukka over 3k. Didn't realise just how loud it was until after I did the test ride on the 12 and got straight on the CBR. Switched it off and put in earplugs for the half mile trip home :o

Spot on! Coolcarbon. I'm very glad you chirped up!
I'm just back from Fleetwood and the Carbon Can Co. and I'll have a can tomorrow. I could have had one there and then, but they had to modify a connecting pipe to suit the centre stand bump stop, the later ones being different. Brilliant place, only small but that's often better, eh?
And the best part - the price -£160 for a SS can with all straps etc.
Thoroughly recommend the place.

Great Stuff.....:thumb2

Don't forget to post some photos once on the Bike....;)

I went back to CarbonCanCo today as arranged, and they fitted the can.
Looks good, quality job (can't post pictures, Wizard) and sounds better than std can (had to). At tickover it doesn't sound any different, but now there's a deeper note going up the gears, and it pops a bit on the overrun, but not so loud as to attract attention. Definitely an improvement!
With the std can I felt a surge in the urge at about 4000 rpm, and now that happens maybe 200 or 300 rpm earlier - I think.
I looked through the can before fitting and there is nothing in there, just daylight, so it's effectively a perforated tube surrounded by some sound absorbtion material. The guys there reckoned most of the silencing is done by the cat.
Anyway, fitted - one SS can with BSI Approval and a fruity sound and lifetime guarantee --- £160. BARGAIN!
Carbon Can Co. gets a THOROUGHLY RECOMMENDED!!!! from me.
