If so what size rear spring did you have fitted, and what did you set the rebound to front and rear? cheers Pauly.

Cannot comment on 1150 but i had them on my 1200 and the spring was to my weight and usage ( pillion etc) the rebound and damping was preset but adjustable after that by a couple of clicks to suit

never needed to play about with it as they are superb

Wilbers

Hello mate
Yes I have fitted Wilbers onto my 1150 adv, I got the same size front one and the one on the rear is the standard gs size which iirc is about 25 mm shorter than the adv shock and this lowered the bike just right for me , weight wise i am about 100 kg give or take and then work out your luggage weight as in what you'd normally take , pillion etc, and tell them and they'll sort it out , some people like to pick a heavier spring but my friend on here Micky advise me to pick the right weight and then you can dial in the preload, good advice it was an all

Hi there Nomad

I have just put a set of wilbers on my 1150 GSA 04
the one i bought where the 640 for the rear with out remote adjustment
and for the front went for the 530 again with our remote adjustment.
the only issue with this is if you want to adjust the spring rate they have to come off the
bike. But you have to make up your own mind on this
they are a vast improvement on the standard one but they where the original
shocks with 87000 miles so well worn.

I bought them from the wilbers supplier in Cork, Ireland
and the both worked out at about £650 sterling delivered with the exchange rate that day
so not a bad price for good shocks and a totally different bike to ride.
at the same time i also got one of Johns the greek mans stage 6 chips fitted
that made a big improvement over all to the bike and at £30 pounds it is well worth
the money.

Cheers Davey

Bought mine from Rev's Racing, as above I just told them my weight with riding gear, specified no pillion but up to 30Kgs of luggage. The shocks they supplied were perfect.

As for adjustment that depended on what I was doing, a track day max preload on the hydraulic remote and almost max damping, Dalton highway max preload but only around 2-3 clicks of damping, normal road use no preload and about 8-10 clicks damping each end.

Please note experimenting on the road with minimum damping, i.e. no clicks, and then chucking it into a peg down long left hander produces horrific wheel patter and the entire bike drifts sideways across the road. Gave the old ticker a very good work-out:D It's to the credit of the 1150GS design and stability that it stayed rubber side down.

Thanks Guys all fitted and learned a bit from here, some road testing required! I'm pleased so far it wafts over the bumps now.Mind you they werent cheap so they should be good!
