Anyone actually use the BMW tank bag?

I have one,it stays on the bike all the time, very useful.
The wife say's it's a bit like me.......full of crap and comes off real quick.
:D

I use one most of the time and find it very useful. It fits well, easy to fit and remove, is waterproof and doesn't get in the way. One of my pals who bought the smaller Touratech item wishes he'd gone for the BMW bag.

i have the large bmw tankbag on my 2009 gs1200 - recently completed a 3500 mile tour without any problems - i would say however that the zip toggles are not very robust and are prone to breaking

I use mine mostly when touring, like it a lot. Usually has my camera and other useful to have at hand stuff in it. Easy enough to take on and off as far as I'm concerned. :thumb2

BMW Tank Bags

I have both and use them on my '08 GSA, the large as said - but to big for any technical off-road:eek: The small is that, and I found it a perfect match for my little adventure off-road on Iceland this summer:beer:

Bottom line for me. The small one is my first pick, the large one I only use when I have to and on tarmac.:beerjug:

I do and it`s an excellent bit of kit :thumb2 it works by attaching it to the bike and unzipping the lid, putting stuff in and zipping back up :thumb2 HTH :D

Yeah I use the big one most days actually.Had it since my first GS in 2005.Oddly enough when I first had it I really struggled to attach it each time and I have no idea why as it actually just hooks it self on when one dangles the hook in the aproximate area.I think it was because I was physically trying to hook it on with my fingers and there aint enough space for fingers and hook
Great bit of kit but I have had the zip part company with its sel but have been able to reasemble it:confused:

I'm wondering if anyone actually uses the large BMW tank bag. If you do, how does it work?

I tried one and found it too bulky on the bike, so I use a Baglux tank cover with a small bag, enough for sunglasses, wallet, phone and map if needed. Easy to fit / remove as well.

I have by the way modified the small tank bag and now use the SW-MOTECH tank ring with quick lock/disconnect and 12 VDC supply for an AUX outlet. Perfect for charging mobiles, cameras, back-up gps, and extra rechargable batteries:bounce1 Tested now for two seasons and 25K km incl about 1K km (off-road portion) on Iceland this summer:clap
