Anyone buy a F800 Adventure?

Hi, i am looking at a sand one with Travel spec. Anyone managed to get any discount - Bahnstormer say no money off list at all as new model. Thanks

Actually I think thats a huge difference.

Three of us set of for the IOM a few weeks ago. The M6 was at a standstill for mile after mile . My F650GS and the VFR 800 filtered happily . The third friend on his beautiful immaculate 1200 GS with the (expandable ) BMW cases fully loaded /expanded... well it was a real challenge to filter between all the trucks/cars. Who needs the stress of that ? Inching through ?

Would like too see pics. I suppose it may be slightly wider for carving traffic but I usually avoid motorways at all costs anyway etc if I can . shouldn't be a issue for me.

I'm interested if someone can do a real life fuel range test. Bmw claim max range of 260 miles but if I get about 60mpg like my current 800, 24 litres would give about 318 miles.

It's only 3 inches either side...

GS Adv

I bought a full spec 90th GSA for only a bit more than some on here paid for a 800GSA te.

Having owned a 800 gs in 08 I think they have really grown the price of this bike. And now even further with the GSA edition.

The quality just isn't there on 800 models, I think they use cheaper components than on a 1200.

So 12k versus 13k seems mad.

I do like the 800 for its light weight and fuel consumption 70 mpg from memory on a run.

But the big GSA makes me smile more and all that goes with it.

You could be right there paddy. I know I could get a wc for little more than a 800. But u couldn't live with that rattly/noisy engine. I am nearly sure I'd take the 800

Looks nice but seat height looks very low,so I guess it's ideal for all those who fucked around by lowering GSA12s and fitting weird looking seats.

I think paddy made a good summary. There is a difference in quality.

Hey, the price of fuel is important even if you are in the position of spending £12/£13k on a bike without blinking .
I say that because this country (dead manufacturing sector and uk's bloated public sector and ridiculous benefit culture) is "screwed".

I'd expect the pound to weaken more in the next 3 years and well see imported items such as fuel at double today's price ie £3 a litre as a certainty withing 3 years.
An economical twin might just enable more biking fun than the 1200WC.

When I buy a bike or car I always think through in my mind "if fuel doubles in cost ( as it will in 3 years) will this still be a good choice ?"

To compare the 800 and 1200 is like comparing apples to oranges.

Its like comparing the KTM690 enduro to the 800

The 800 has more off road ability than the 1200 but the 1200 is a better touring bike.

And the 12,200 was for complete luggage new sat nav alloy bash plate and inner bags.
It will cost you closer to 15 to get that in the 1200

I think paddy made a good summary. There is a difference in quality.
