Hi All,

Got 'check oil level' @ 10 miles - so stopped, checked, all ok - oil at about 3/4 max in the window.

300miles ish 'check oil level' again, stopped checked, all ok - again, oil at about 3/4 max in the window.

The manual says it will come up and you should check at next fuel stop.

From the PDF manual:

The readings mean:
OK: Oil level is correct.
CHECK: Check the oil level the
next time you stop for fuel.
---: Oil level cannot be measured
(conditions as stated above
not satisfied).
If the oil level needs to be
checked, the symbol 2 is
displayed until the oil level is detected
as being correct again.

========

Now as soon as I switch the ignition back on it clears and says 'OK'.

Is this normal behavior? :nenau

Thanks,

JT

Itsa software glitch. Will be updated when new disc is out -don't panic :)

It happened to me when waiting at traffic lights on a slight downhill slope. Checked soon after and the oil level was at the top of the red circle. 150 miles on the odo.

Looks like the first problem to be identified by the Beta testers has raised its ugly head:D

Me Too.

Mines been doing it for last few hundred miles, started on holiday last week, Cannons diagnosed issue and we are now awaiting new oil level sensor from the fatherland.

Ho hum, hasn't done it since the 600mile service, but then they did overfill it slightly :blast Not a lot mind.

I did, but what is the point of both a sight glass and a fecking idiot warning display on the clocks

Just use the sightglass, like normal

Pointless electronics for the new breed of biker, who BMW think needs a message display board to check if his bike is functioning ok

Oil Level Warning
Tyre Pressure Warning

Load of tosh, cause more intermittent problems than it's worth:rolleyes:

I do use it, about twice a day when I get off the bike :thumb2

It's part of my end of 'End of DeathStar Trench Run' ritual after commuting down the a40/M40 every day. Along with rolling a ciggy, lighting up and swearing a lot.

Don't worry about it,the oil pressure is low because the oil is thinner. Once you have had the 600 service it will be sorted.

........and have any hope of a claim for a seized engine or valve trouble rejected by BMW if it ever happens :blast

Makes a lot of sense to me, that does :thumb2
