Anyone else tried the Low Sargent seat

Just received the "new" Low Sargent seat for the GSA and its not very comfortable, anyone else tried one?

I'm toying with getting the OEM ones recovered as they are much more comfortable!

You don't say which year your bike is but I currently have a low Sargent on my GSA WC and I had a low Sargent on my previous 2012 GSA.

Initially, the seats feel hard (the present seat felt harder than the older one and is a bit thinner) however, after a short period of break-in/getting used to them, I find both old and newer versions are very comfortable. The extra width offers much better support than the OEM seats and I can ride all day without problems. I suggest you give it longer to get used to them.

s I'm posting in the WC Thread I was assuming all would understand that I had an LC!

I will give it more time and see if it does indeed improve with time, I too had one on my 2012 GSA and found it superb.

I remember thinking after buying my first sargent "what the hell have I done" it's not until you've done your first 500ml day on one that you realise just how good they are.

I've got the Low Sargeant, I got the low version because I bought it in the states and didn't want to find that if I'd bought the normal height one and it was too high I was snookered.
It's awkwards when stopped, the width makes it difficult to get your feet down (thank god I got the low one) but once on the move, the seat disappears, no longer an issue.
I did 2 hours on the test ride with the stock seat and by the end I was hurting, 2 hours on the sargeant and I can't feel a thing (in a good way).

I have one (heated) and also find the width a bit of an issue and puts me on tip-toes when stopped.

I had a second hand one on my older GS and that was very comfortable, this new one is still on the hard side and needs to be "broken in", but is OK.

I would rate the standard GSA seat a 4/10 after using it for a month. Now I have had the low version Sargent, I am giving it a 9.7/10!!

I won't be parking my arse on mine till next Wednesday but when I ordered mine I looked at the measurements and design compared to the Bmw low seat which I presently own. I suffer from the inside leg length (not that way)rather than height .
So hopefully paying out for this seat dosnt send me back to square one

i did a few 600 miles trips to the Ardennes when i got the GSA last July and it it was painful on the stock seat, so a brought the Low version in September for my trip to the Central massif.

It was a life saver and with the Low version there is not much difference to the stock seat height due to it being wider, but its much more comfy.

One very notable point though is that the stock seats are now not same between the GS and GSA as in previous models so are not interchangeable with the Sargent, so the front sargent does not fit properly with the rear stock seat so you need to buy both sargents.

That is not 100% true. You can easily fit the Sargent front with the stock rear. There is no problem with doing it. However, there will be a gap at the back of the seat between the two. It bothers some, but does not effect functionality.
