I'm thinking of putting our Motorola GP300 radios into (tool tubes) or something similar.

My moto is a 1200gs the the ladies is a 650gs. No room under the saddles.

The radios will be bike powered and the tool tubes fastened to the frames.

Would be interested to know if anyone else has gone down this route.

Cheers

Brian

we put ours in the jacket pocket, so when yer off bike ye still got coms, thats if ye still want yer missus to talk to ye all the time:augie

tool tubes should be ok , depends on interference from engine?

try a dry run , se if it works

The critical thing ...

... with PMR radios is the orientation of the aerial. Imagine if you can a donut placed over the stub aerial, this replicates the signal being emitted. Therefore if the aerial is canted over a lot of signal will be lost, and there's not too much to begin with. Therefore the best orientation is perpendicular, or straight up :thumb2

NB Please use donuts with holes, not jam or 'heaven forbid' custard ones, 'cos the analogy will not work :blast

what if ye can fit an external aerial to the RT?

Well ...

what if ye can fit an external aerial to the RT?

... I don't think you can legally fit a remote aerial to a PMR radio; some say that if you do the vehicle to which it's fitted can be siezed. Not that anyone has ever produced any direct evidence of siezure, but it's worth bearing in mind :rob

A policeman and donuts. Now there's two words you don't often hear together. :D

A beginners guide:

... a seemingly useful wall chart, that doesn't contain my favourite one :blast I'm a bit of a fan of the one that looks like Frosty Dog Shit :D
