I've ordered a Givi top box plate & mounting kit for my 1200GS.

For touring I weighed up the options of using a tail pack (50 sovs), BMW's own top box & fitting kit (350 sovs) or buy this Givi plate (55 sovs) and use a Givi box I already own. (the bike came with BMW paniers)

My reason for posting is I want to see a photo of the plate fitted to a 1200.
Anyone got one?

The back of the bike is high enough as it is but fitting a plate onto the original plate then adding a box is going to be towering. Still, needs must when you're touring.

Phil.

Hopefully these will work and may help?

Edit: Phil, make sure you get the stainless screws with the kit as some owners have had these fail. Givi are aware and will provide correct fastenings if contacted.

Phil,

Here's another one showing the rack and one with the box fitted.

Personally, I don't find it too towering and Paula has commented that it is the perfect height for supporting her back.

NOTE:
The kit supplied didn't fit very well, as I found it strained the rear mounting bolts & frame. I purchased longer stainless spacers & bolts which alleviated this problem....Put longer rubber "tits" ( cut fuel hose) on the rear to stop the topcase from rattling..
