most dealers seem to be saying we can't discount because it's a brand new model, it seems some dealers are looking after there valued customers with deals and discounts so did you get a deal? what dealer?

valued client? id like to think so david, my third new GS from same dealer in 4 years all cash deals, no p/x, im stuggling to get a bit of discount off the sat-nav you need because no other fits, never mind the bikeAre you not a valued client anywhere? I dont sell motor bikes but I do have valued customers, They provide me with the least hassle and maximum profit, they make the day pass nicely, they need rewarding. if I sold bikes, but I dont, they would probably have a new bike off me regularly and have it serviced with me as well, as before they need rewarding. It takes time to build a valued customer basis.
On the other hand you get what deal will you give me clients! or I will take my business else where! type clients. Them Im less likely to court with favours.
i fell for the line "its a new bike mate and BMW wont allow us to knock owt off sorry"
what dealer ding dong?£300 off the bike and 10% off accessories ie crash bars, tank bag, akro but declined the akro i prefer the stock.

I didn`t get a discount. They were very agressively NOT into discounts and TBH it cheesed me off. I was even told that the new panniers wouldn`t be discounted either.
There is another reason why I am abit miffed which I won`t share in an open forum but, take it from me, it aint all `lets hug the customer.....`
but with that said nobody held a gun to my head and I am looking forward to the bike![]()

what dealer ding dong?

My new LC is the fourth GS I've purchased from my dealer, so with this in mind they looked after me, and a mutually beneficial deal was reached. I don't think it would be fair to them for me to disclose what deal they did, as every circumstance is different, but needless to say I didn't pay list price![]()
Wouldn't have thought they make that much on the new stock anyway, reckon there's more profit for them on the used p/x deals they do ?

I tried one while having mine serviced, and asked what the cost to change was. It turned out to be book-bottom for mine (immaculate, full history etc, all the options), against full price on the new one that they have sitting unsold in the showroom. Full price including, of course, the £300 delivery charge, for a bike that they've bought, and had delivered, and don't have a buyer for.
Anyway, I've countered them, at a price that's about 10% off on the new one. If they want to deal at that price, I'll have a new bike, if they don't I'll enjoy the current one for a bit longer (although a bit less than I would had I not tried the new one...)
I'll let people know the outcome.
Hardball. I like it![]()
