i had one painted by dream machine via keith shaw some years back. it was a pretty good job but not as good as original.

c. £1300 in 2004, and the bike was probably only worth about £2500 then

...and not long after it went back to it's owner, it fell off the side stand and i had to get the screen re-done :blast

Picked up a 1974 model from a fellow enthusiast in Yorkshire yesterday. Lovely M/C :)

Hmmmm. I thought all the early 90Ss were silver smoke ? I'm probably wrong mind.

It seems the first orange bike was introduced in June 1974 but I am not certain. If it was grey and I was paying for a respray I would have had it done orange anyway so grey/orange isn't an issue for me on such a fine M/C :)

Mmmm I bought an Orange one in Sept/Oct 1974,

I remember it still had the solid discs on(not drilled) they changed them for me later the following year, and i had a problem with the seat, I don't think they'd put any padding in it, :D, so I changed it at a later date (as we still do :blast)

I kept it for three years, never cost me a penny other than servicing costs, sold it to a friend at work who wrote it off :blast

Think I have a set BMW panniers to fit that, somewhere in the loft :rob But not the original ones :D the original ones may have been krauser but not sure, I do know they let water in badly,

I'm sure you'll get a lot of pleasure out of it Andy, if I was 10 years younger I'd be making you an offer for it ;)

Even better. A demo ride on an R90s was what made me buy an R60/6, my first BM. (A tyro teacher's salary wouldn't stretch to the £1500 bank loan.) Great gobs of torque from those pumper carbs. Had an RD350 at the time so the contrast was fairly noticeable! Eek!

Health to enjoy many miles together. :beerjug:

That's the trouble with 'em. They are just sooooo common!

BTW Was that you I saw riding through Weare Giffard today, Devon?

R90Ss are like Buses :D

Not me yesterday in W Giffard, Tibs.

I have a piece in this months Real Classic (October) mag on the bike.

It's my first ever attempt at something like this and it was more difficult then I thought it would be but it's still nice to see your own words and pictures in an article.

Edit:
Real classic is a subscription magazine but they will have a stand on the balcony of the Stafford Classic show selling mags later this month, if anyone is interested.
