It must be different to the one I got, as mine has what I would think as all the details that would qualify it as a Vat receipt. Are you sure they weren't taking the![]()
Teamin - the actual invoice that Handtec supplied is what we would call sufficient - here in SA - however there's another VAT form they must complete with their company stamp on - specifically for the UK Vat & Customs. This form must be stamped by HM Customs when you leave the UK to verify the items are in fact leaving the EU. The VAT invoice is then sealed in an envelope - together with the Customs stamp - and ONLY then will they give me a refund.
For interest sake, we purchased numerous items of clothing and shoes (I cannot get size 12's in SA) - all the suppliers - M&S, Next etc. gave us the VAT form completed to hand in with our Vat receipt.
So my argument is that Handtec, being a supposed large supplier dealing with UK & International orders.... should have known this and as requested supplied me with these relevant docs....
HM Customs official was extremely helpful, but pointed out the fact that without the missing VAT form - he had no official document to stamp for the refund....
