Anyone interested in doing a First Bike on Scene first aid course?

That was a good day out, a very interesting course although I hope to never need to use any of it. Nice to meet you guys and thanks for organising Devon.

Cheers,
Jon.

+1:thumb Thanks for all your efforts organising the day Devon, although I can still taste the vending machine coffee:toungincheek

FBOS 30th May '09..

Morning all...

Devon,
Firstly i'd like to thank you for organising this for us all yesterday..

Great day out and absolutely invaluable IMHO..
Even the weather came up trumps for us... Was good to meet so many tossers in one place ,lol..
As above I hope that these skills are never needed..
But:-
I'd rather have the knowledge and not need it, than need it and not have it .

Thanks to everyone for the fun.

Joe C ..

Thanks Devon - Great day out!

A very worthwhile day.

A big Thank You to Michael the trainer. It's reassuring to know that people like him are looking out for us when it all goes wrong. Top guy (and closet GSer me thinks) :clap

Devon,

Do you have some contact details for the chap that taught the course?
I'm hoping that he could run a similar one for the students that I work with.

Cheers,

Rob

Here is the latest update on the Course. It's looking like Devon County Council will subsidize the course so the cost to each person attending should be £10.00 That is a pretty good deal. The Council would like a picture from the course and a couple of comments from people attending to publicize road safety for motorcyclists in the local press. 12 peeps max for the day.

I am trying to get the course booked for 30th May at the Ambulance Station, Sowton Industrial estate, just off the M5, Exeter. Nothing concrete yet but I should have the details confirmed in the next week or so.
Not from your neck of the woods, but I'd be very happy to take part in this, if allowable (Im in Surrey, but dont mind a spin out on the bike to get to you guys)

Rob, contact your local Councils' Road safety officer and see what they can help you with. I sorted this course a couple of years back and don't have the details now.

We did the course a couple of years back and this is an old thread mark2jag. I decided to attend a course after coming across a m/c accident and not really having a clue what to do. In truth, most times there is not much you can do but at least you are taught where to start when you come across an accident and what can be done.
Maybe you could sort one in your area like Rob would like to do? :thumb2

FBOS course.

Hi , I did the one organised by "Devon" as per this thread..
FWIW i'd say it was money well spent. Was a good day out ,met other "tossers" had a laugh and learnt a lot of very valuable stuff.. I feel much better if I come upon an bike accident, much more likely to do something as opposed to sit on the side lines - as you do .
Have used the knowledge/techniques twice so far, so a day well spent ..

Joe C.
