Anyone test-ridden the new 1250 GS yet ?

Not the best pics.

Looks very smart, a bit of colour coding makes a huge difference.

I feel I've bought the wrong colour Akro now.

Have come across these last night on BMW website. They are HP parts and due to be available to order from around January.

Now that will make exclusive look the tits.

Shall we take bets how much BMW will charge for that little lot?:augie

Why would anyone buy extras, when you can get the current parts powdercoated for about £30 for all of those items together, and not have the originals sat on the shelf. :nenau

Agree, but leave hangers where they are as he might be carrying pillion.
By the way there is a law for which you could get done for.
If your motorcycle provides a seat for a pillion it must have pillion pegs and vice versa.

Only if you carry a pillion. ;)

My bike isn’t insured for a pillion, so the pegs are off. If the police ever stop me on the bike, the legality of whether or not I’ve got pillion pegs fitted will be the least of my worries!

That is true..... I would certainly do that.

Fair Play Nutty!

Will be interesting to read your thoughts on the Akra Euro3 on the bike, if the ECU adapts nicely to it, or if heating issues arise, also what tyres did they fit stick, A3,s or A41,s

Fitted the Road 5s as I did not like the look of the flat profile A41 and don't mention the A3 .
Used my second set of wheels so when the cross spokes arrive I wont know whats fitted .

Im sticking some rd attack 3's on a bike 19/17 wheel combo, how did you rate em !

The PR5 are a great tyre , turn really well as as tall profile , I have posted before on these . If you use them in anger on Spanish roads , to 1200 1500 max front and rear , but you will have a brilliant time on them.
Using another set over here to see how I get on as I loved the way they rode and need to give them a fair test on UK roads not a Spanish 5 day thrash.

I will give the RA3 another go , but wasn't keen on them and changed after 700 miles as found the steering slow compared to the old TA2

MCM have done a head to head on the old and new and their verdict is the same as me after my 2 rides :bounce1

And what is the verdict then?

The HP is a near perfect motorcycle, well done to BMW for refining the excellent R bikes.
I really enjoyed my spin.
How nice the "minimalist" GS is compared to the GSA and RT.
Reminds me of my lovely 2013 GS was (once the clutch was sorted).
The little screen worked and a wonderful view of the road.
The engine and gearbox is perfect but still a big twin.
This machine would be my dream track day bike.
I dont mind Anakees but didn't feel right on the HP.
BMW must bring out a supermoto version of the HP.
Mind you getting back onto my 16 plate RT for the 210k ride home, I didn't miss the GS one bit.
Medium heavy rain most of the way in RST jeans and no wet gear.
Got back to Galway dry, an incredible machine. The 1250 engine is going to sit nicely in the RT.

Good review, Pat, but it’s not an HP. It’s a Rallye, with two HP stickers on it. ;)
