Anyone using Brisk spark plugs in a LC yet? I used to fit them in my previous boxers with god results - didn't really do it for power gain, but felt they smoothed the engine through the rev range?

Waste of money

All in your imagination, a sparks a spark :D

I've found that a good spark plug will make a difference to power and smoothness.
NGK Iridium plugs are good too. I use both Brisk and NGK Iridium in my bikes.

A pal of mine runs a BSB Superbike team and they use Brisk surface discharge plugs because they gave the best spark and therefor power. It's not massive gains but every little helps.

As for the two quotes above, take no notice. These people are not armed with enough knowledge or facts to help you.

How do you know?

You seem to be following the sales pitch, but convince me, show us a independently tested review of say standard plugs against "Brisk or or Iridium plugs that shows any difference, by the way can I interest you in my line of petrol economiser's you fit it between your fuel tank and injectors / carburettors and it transforms your mpg! expect at least double, also adds 30bhp:thumb2

If the spark is good enough to ignite the mixture, what benefit is gained from a 'better' spark?

If you take the trouble to read what I've written, you'll see this. "A pal of mine runs a BSB Superbike team and they use Brisk surface discharge plugs because they gave the best spark and therefor power. It's not massive gains but every little helps" A shame you didn't notice and understand that!

None of the race teams use ordinary spark plugs.

Lastly,If you need some kind of evidence, use google to help you-you obviously need it.

All I read is "mate uses them an he reckons they give a better spark" not very convincing, I have goggled Brisk plugs and the results seem to back up what I say, no difference! but bring on your independent reviews showing power gains and better sparks (whatever they are??) and convince us all:D Most race team recieve consumables from sponsers for free.

I use Brisk and NGK Iridium because I can detect a difference using the seat of the pants method in the way my bikes run and feel. Coupled with the fact that my "mate" uses them in his BSB bikes, that's good enough for me but as I said, It's not massive gains but every little helps"

If you don't think upgrade plugs are of any use, don't buy any. ICGAF.

I'll bet you're the type of tight arse that hasn't tried a set so cannot actually comment from experience.

Nope I havent tried them because over the years I have read far more reprts that they make no difference than reports that they do boost performance, I've used intelligence to use the best plugs for my engines, but round every corner theres mug! if they are so effective every manufacturer would use them and there would be convincing testing showing how much better they, You havent conviced me or most on here I would say, But it it makes you happy go for it!

Guys
I asked for opinions not handbags at Dawn! As a practicing Engineer, I Know a bigger spark is better under compression than a weaker one for fully igniting the air / fuel mix. I don't know if the differing designs (Iridium electrode / Brisk etc) actually give a better / cleaner spark under compression or not. I was hoping for constructive comments but looks like there are characters on here who just want to take the piss all the time rather than help & assist?

:confused:I tried to help by giving my own experience on the matter but unfortunately some people on this forum join for an argument but have no experience to backup their doubts on anything they have not even bothered to try.

Whats wrong with the perfectly good standard ngk plugs installed as standard?
Answer.......= Nothing. And thats my answer/advice.
DONT WASTE your dosh.
And as far as " i can feel the difference through the seat of me pants".
What a load of Bxllxcks.

Briss spark plugs

My 1150 with Remus Exhaust popped on the overrun i had just bought the bike
Motorworks suggested i try the Briss quite expensive
No difference i didn't notoice anymore power the popping continued
Rode down to italy with them in then swopped them back for bosch
I couldn't tell any difference more for racing

Quite a few years ago when Brisk were newish to the market I put a set in my 1100 prior to a Hograost; ran like a pig and eventually stuttered to a halt outside Basingstoke Halfords (about 60 miles) where I swapped them for a set intended for a Ford Fiesta. Normal service was resumed at a fraction of the cost and those plugs were still in it when I sold the bike (with a spare pair under the seat). Gave the Brisk plugs to the spotty oik from Halfords as he thought they looked cool, therefore in my personal experience they were shit but it's your bike, so fill your boots and let us know how you get on.
