I second that Bob, can't be doing with all these lazy buggers:D :D :D You miss the best part of the day - nothing like riding through the dawning of a new morn:beerjug:

Ok. Dennis will meet some at the West End Cafe at 8.30 am before riding down to Carmarthen McDonalds N51.84675 W4.30891 or SN 41058 18987. Rather than riding from Carmarthen to Llandovery and back to Carmarthen again, I will aim to be at McDonalds just before 9.00 am for a coffee etc. Safeways petrol station is just up the road, for petrol if anyone needs to top up. I reckon we should aim to leave Carmarthen by 9.30 am.

Rob makes a very good point - don't forget that the clocks go forward an hour on Saturday night. What's the odds on someone turning up at 9.00 am - old time? The suggested route takes us over the Toll bridge at Pembroke Dock - 35p according to Welsh Magician, before a suggested pub lunch at the Jolly Sailor in Burton. Do we need to book? We can miss out "Ceibwr" if no-one fancies it, but I've been told there's a good view there, it's only a few miles out of our way and by then someone will need a fag-break anyway.

According to Mapsource, the route shown is 136 miles. I don't know how long it will take, but we've got all day, there will be some relatively inexperienced riders, and there will not be any pressure on anyone to ride "beyond their capabilities". Lets hope the weather is as good as it was last Sunday. :D

Welsh Magician, is this the road over the Preselis you suggested?

The road is the B4329 which brings you out on the A487 just short of Eglwyswrw, say that with a mouthful of cornflakes and a cup of tea.

You surely don't expect me to be able to read that map with my eyes do you EJ ?????

:D

Pembrokeshire inc Cresswell Quay and Lawrenny, and then heading North to New Quay or Aberaeron.

Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhh
My fav holiday spots in the uk.
Spent most of my childhood holidays at Lawrenny had heared it was run down until recently and someone had started putting money back into it and was looking good.
Shame cant make ANOTHER run, going up to have lights fitted Sat in Redditch by BTBR,dont reckon her indoors will go for it.
Shame.
Have a nice one.

EJ , only small point, but we really need to be leaving West End by around 8.30 so if, like me, you fancy a fat bastard fry up before you depart, suggest 8.00am arrival:D

Oh! and incidently I've bagged "tail end charley" spot for the day! So poor Archaeo will have me up her exhaust pipe all day!:D :D :D

That depends on whether I am solo or 2 up Dennis! Not sure if I can be there yet, but I'm looking forward to my first run out with the Tossers! :beerjug:

Worth the trip he does a really professional job. If you get the choice his wife does a better cup of coffee!!

Another useless thought for the day.

Depending on numbers, would it be worthwhile everyone coughing up 35Pee to our illustrius leader at Mc :barf 's to save time at the Peage thing :) You know, everyone getting off, using main stand, removing gloves, opening purse, fumbling with freezing hands, giving a £50 note, and then a slow reversal, is all very well as a protest against the Charge but we are looking to see Beautiful Wales Boyo, not queue, are we ?

reminder

just to remind everyone who is going out tommorrow that the clocks change tonight....... just thought i would mention it as i had forgotten, but i was reminded by hwmbo

see you all tommorrow

:D

Hope everyone enjoyed themselves yesterday, and a quick thanks in particular to:

Dennis : for leading the majority of the route, for paying for all of us at the Cleddau bridge (I was going to buy his lunch but he'd already paid by the time I got there - I promise to buy it next time), and for showing general patience and tolerance "beyond the call of duty". :clap

Mr & Mrs Durns (sorry don't know your first names) for lending my son Edward the heated waistcoast. Believe it or not, he switched it off later, as he was "too hot"

PW for lending him a pair of heavy duty gloves.

Don't know about the rest of you, but we were both knackered when we got home, and we didn't even do the whole route - in fact Eddie is still out for the count. He's now been asleep for 11 hours. Apologies for missing out Ceibwr, but the GPS definately told me to turn right at Eglwyswrw.
