Aoocci C6 Pro

My C5 Pro arrived yesterday and I've spent most of today fitting it. They appear to have made changes in the mounting system which is shown on the advertising as a metal ball with a 'security' clamp. Mine arrived with a cheaper plastic mount.
I have contacted Aoocci who have offered to send me the original mounting for $15 shipping which I have declined.
Bare this in mind if you are considering buying one.
I had an old mobile phone adapter which slots into a BMW Navigator mount to hand, which I've now used as a base for the C5 by bolting it to it, enabling me to clip it into the Navigator mount. I've used the power from the bike by unplugging the GPS mount plug and wiring the USB supply to it.
The C5 is now demountable from the bike, but it's not something I'd like to do on a regular basis as the 2 camera and power leads have to be disconnected which takes a couple of minutes. Worthwhile if you're leaving the bike overnight for instance though.
It all seems to work OK at the moment but not ridden the bike with it on yet.

So my unit arrived yesterday and interestingly, it’s not an Aoocci branded unit?! Packaging was plain, no instruction manual (not needed tbh) and no mention of Aoocci at all when unit is switched on.

Functionality wise, it appears to be the exact same when comparing to multiple youtube reviews (another comment on one of the videos states the exact same unbranded issue as this ). Mine did however, arrive with a wired remote unit.

It’s not too much of an issue and I don’t think I can be bothered to return it as like I say, it appears to work the same barring a few visual differences in icon layout / menus etc. etc.

Cracked it! There you go, I used the old phone cradle I had by bolting through it into the Aoocci. The cradle had a USB output on it but it didn't seem to provide sufficient power so I had to use the powersupply that came with it.

Aoocci are in the process of revamping their packaging and I suspect they are a bit swamped at the moment. I’m sure RichyVida said he’d sold 40,000 units through his affiliate link

Is anybody who has one of these able to report what the drain is on your mobile when its connected and navigating you?

Is it sufficient to have your phone in your pocket as is, or do you need to consider having your phone plugged in somewhere and charging whilst its connected to one of these units?

It won’t be any different than any other CarPlay unit as it’s a standard protocol. I think it will depend on your mobile and what state the battery is in. I can go all day 9 - 6 touring without charging my phone and using it for CarPlay. Depends on the app you’re running as well

It’ll use whatever your phone can use if it’s CarPlay/Android Auto compatible

OSMAnd supports Apple CarPlay but OutdoorActive doesn’t unfortunately. I’m not too sure about the same apps on Android Auto

How would you say the C6 pro compares to the Carpuride 702? I like the fitting of the 702 BMW cradle straight into the nav bracket.
