The Asda bags look like a good deal -I can afford those. I was on the lookout for a cheap 'n cheerful inner bag....gets the Springer Seal of Approval ??

See you wasted no time getting the stickers on your panniers too. I've put some red 3M Diamond reflective tape on mine, and it really shows up in car headlights. Can't be too visible in the dark .

Yup, Boda thinks the bags are top dog. :thumb2

3M tape, yup me too.....

The M&S liner bag measures 11" wide x 15" long and 17" deep. Not bad for 80p. :)

Although Mandy's bag seems to hold more. Must be something to do with the Tardis like properties of a lady's handbag. :handbag :D

Now that's a real man - sized pannier:bow...M & S Xtra large bags. Won't fit my dainty 8" & 9" cases... I'll have to go down-market and try the Asda brand.!
Surely Mrs Aidan can get all her kit in one of those monster cases ?

ANOTHER ARDCASE OWNER'S UPDATE TIP
(bumping redcap's thread back into pole position)

ASDA do a larger bag too, similar to Aidan's large black M&S bag.

I picked one up last night (74p)..

Slightly wider than redcap's 10 inch case by an inch.
Slightly narrower by one & a half inches.

That's me sorted for inner bags for a grand total of £1.74. :thumb2

Just like Cadburys, it takes a pannier and a half to carry all the stuff Mandylicious needs when we are away. I make do with the half a pannier space which is left. :mmmm

Just ordered a pair of symetrical Ardcases ......................

I've gone for a copy of "Skinny Mules" , but reduced the height by 30mm or so.
So - they will have chamfers of 20mm on each of the vertical edges (inbd and outbd).

Length: 470mm

Width: 210mm

Height: 350mm

I'll need to get stickers made up for them..............

Redcap. do you make brackets/boxes for the F800GS?. If you dont then I'm more than happy to have you use my GS800 as a template anyway, and will happily come to you, so no need to traipse half way across the country for you, Regards, Mark(2jag)

Mark, I may be proved wrong but I wasn't aware redcap actually made the brackets (frames).
I can vouch for his excellent boxes.
Take a look at Holan for frames at a decent price. I've bought from Holan in Poland & it was a pain free experience.

Redcap,

If I was to buy Metal Mule pannier frames, could you make a set of panniers to fit them?

Metal Mule do a set of frames and a replacement exhaust silencer which is positioned closer to the bike frame thereby allowing panniers of the same size to be symmetrically positioned...................but then you probably knew that !!!!!

Many thanks.

Ian

Ian, I've got that very set-up, and had a pair of "Ard-Mules" made up to the same dimensions as Skinny Mules (but 30mm shorter) - I've still to fit them, but it's just a case of positioning the mounts to suit.

A pic of one of the panniers:

Top Box

Hi,

I have a Touratech plate on the back of my F800GS and was wondering if you could do a top box for it?

Thanks

Adrian

Blackal.................Thanks for that the panniers look great, I bet you are pleased with them.

Thunder............... I wish !!!!!!:(

Redcap................. I will probably order the Metal Mule rack and exhaust around March time. Once I know whatsize pannier system I want I will get back to you and maybe I could ride over to your place after you have made them and you could fit them for me (I think I have read somewhere you offer this service too).

My practical skills are pretty much zero.

I know its a long way off.....or at least seems it but could you give me an 'idea' of cost and also how long you may need to make them....just a rough idea is fine

Thanks all for the help

Ian
