Harrys boxes with cut out

Hi Harry,
Any chance of seeing some pics of your boxes fitted? I am thinking about some of these but they need to be within my H&B engine bar width (I use my bike daily for a commute through the city and it is wide enough already) so I was thinking about a 8" right and a 8" left with a 2" cut out? Should still give me plenty of space but not limit my filtering. Does anyone have any other views?

Ard Cases

After much serious thought  :nenau and looking at all the different options, i have spoke to the very nice and knowledgable chap called rodger.

And have placed my cheque in the post and and my order with him. He is very helpful and has sorted the pannier frame for me as well.

Now really excited to see what i have ordered come to life, yes i will post pictures as soon as they are delivered and fitted to my Gsa.

Cant wait to get them on and get muddy with them on the back (see pics in ride out reports, easy green laning in basingstoke.) They will be tested trust me, was thinking they might stop me from sinking :thumb2:thumb2

Will post soon my pic`s of my new shiney panniers, Thankyou Rodger.

Old Skool Finally complete

Finally got my Ardcases fitted once my racks arrived from Germany !

No point telling you how good they are, plenty of people have already done this, but a few pics just to prove it :thumb

Four months later...

I finally got enough time at home to fit my panniers.
Very straightforward to fit to my Holan frames (touratwat copies I believe).

Wide but not excessively so.

I'm one very happy customer.

Eagle-eyed viewers may have spotted that I have changed the standard fastners for locking, spring loaded ones. For me, these are a better option than padlocks although they do add about £90 to the price of the panniers. The original catchplates were retained.

Nice panniers Denis, look like good quality and well finished, the other advantage will be that Black Al will be able to share yours next time we`re away so he can fill his with.....................well ,anything else !:toungincheek
Happy New Year by the way, not long til the west coast so long as the weather remembers that spring just around the corner ( ha, ha )

Shinyface ;)

Thanks F

They are great quality.

Al has enough pannier capacity to hide Belgium so he can sort out his own.
I don't intend to carry much more stuff (Yeah right) only now it will be easier to load and unload.

I now need to get the battery charged and wait for a day when I can get the bike through the ice and onto the main roads.

Happy New Year to all the Shiny Faces!!

snow again....

Frames for Ardcase - Recommendations?

Hi all - I have surfed endlessly (thanks for a great thread everbody:thumb2) about which panniers to put on my 2006 GS and now think i'll be giving Roger a wee bell in the not too distant future :bow

The question im still struggling with is what frames best compliment the Ardcase :nenau

An important part of this equation is my complete ineptitude with anything bearing a resemblence to a spanner or drill so whatever the recommendation it will have to be fairly noob-proof for a non techie tosser type.

All suggestions (even rude ones) greatfully recieved

Thanks all

Bob :aidan

frames

hi bob if got my Ard cases on order and they will be fitted to metal mule frames. Im sure they could be fitted to nearly all frames that have the rectangle shape frame to them whatever the make touratech, holen ,metal mule, or anyother ones:thumb

Try the TouraTech frames, -good price, and dead easy to fit -no messing about drilling or aligning frames -they just fit !
To my mind the Holan frames are too wide on the nearside ( for the silencer), and make the bike very wide, so opted for the TT ones. From memory they(the TT ones) cost around £160, but, if you hold on until end of March, and go to the TouraTech weekend, in S Wales you should get 10% off.
Or, if you are extremely fortunate, you may find the brand new set of frames, and my tent, sleeping bag etc, that I lost off the back of my bike, coming back from the TouraTech event last summer, somewhere near Merthyr Tydfil :blast:blast:blast
