Tom, to be fair to Johnny, if he has had both bikes from new then he's averaged 10,000 riding miles per year in total. Not bad if ithat's recreational mileage only ........

Having more than one bike means that none will get used as much as they ought to be. Especially if they are similar bikes that do the same thing equally well. Then again, why would you want two bikes that do the same thing ? :nenau Must be that 'personal choice' thing that some go on about exerting but who don't like others to have a different personal choice .....

Reality is that is's a crap time to be selling any bike. Should have sat on the bike 'til spring to make the loss as little as possible.

Agreed Dave

My average annual miles is about 10k now.................split over a multitude of trail style bikes ( 2 1150GSA's and an XChallenge)

I've tried different road bikes (VFR/R11RT/R11GS/R12GSA bikes) in addition to 1 1150GSA - but prefer riding a 1150GSA more than any other bike, so personal choice - I ride a 1150GSA on one trip or ride and then ride the other one the next time, then I'm always riding a model of bike that I enjoy riding the most................Simples:thumb

Not sure if it's logical, but it suits me:bounce1

@ Mark2Jag....................you've only had the bike a month, see if you gel with it til Spring, if not sell then when it's a better market:thumb

My mate just bought a 20 month old Jag XF, 5 litre, V8, supercharged, loaded with all the toys, love missile for £32k.
New price before you stick any options is £64,400.
So the previous owner lost over £32,000 in less than 2 years.

Hope this helps.

:D

The bloke who started this thread, Mark2jag is a right fekkin winger and whiner.

See his post here, complaining that Bahnstormer didn't get back to him re an Off Road Skills bike...

@mark2jag: man up and get with the way the world works....:comfort
Now we know why he was in such a hurry for the dealer to buy back his bike. If I was a dealer I think I would have better things to do. JJH

Just a drop of a £1,000.00 eh ... I don't think that bad misen :thumb

It's not a charity out there :nenau

Be glad it's not a Ducati, that would lose two to three thousand pounds as soon as it went out the door ... even known the selling dealer not wanting to take it back at any price

You've advertised the bike and no peeps yet, well that should tell you something ... it's too dear or it's the wrong time of year. So it's quite commendable that the dealer would take it back from you for a 1K less!

:beerjug:

That's the whole shebang in a nutshell....:thumb2

Plus, we are living through the greatest buyers' market that I have ever known...a wallet full of 'folding' will drop most prices through the floor.

Mark2jag....I have no interest in pissing you off, but the tone of the replies that you are receiving is cock on. Presumably you posted to gauge opinion, and you've now got it. The guys that are replying have been buying and selling 'bikes for years, and know exactly how the trade, and market, works.

I genuinely hope that helps.....:)

The Chancellor would of taken a bit of the blow there.

Dealers are there to make money and as already stated, they have to take it back in stock and feck about with it before putting it on sale. The OP may not like it but it has an etra owner on the log book and there are costs to cover so that's down to the guy who bought the wrong bike:augie

I doubt there was more than £500 profit in the deal in the first place and why should they take a hit in their profit because you bought the wrong bike? It's alos the wrong time for a dealer to take stock so they have to factor in the fact they may have it in the showroom until the spring.

Mark, it's the way the world is and you can either take the hit now or wait until spring when I'm sure the loss won't be quite so much:thumb

Well then people. you have all had your say. Some of which I agree with, some of which is a tad bloody childish and immature to be honest, but then it does take all sorts. Would be bloody boring if we were all the same, but frankly not much could prepare me for the susrprise i had today. Stopped off for a bite to eat and ended up chatting to someone who has a 1200 for sale, and his wife wants a smaller bike, as she has just passed her test.

ANYWAY, this winger (get a spellchecker ffs, should be whinger,) is very happy he may well end up with a 1200, and probably in very short order.

Case closed...

Please do enjoy the rest of your Xmas, as Im now going to.

Thank you all (good and bad) and Goodnight......

P.S. Watch this space, just not too closely.......

Thanks JB you're a star. It may not sound it but I'm always hopeful of a happy outcome, however it's achieved. If Bahnstormers do offer me a bike which is a bit unlikely, then I will of course be quite glad they wanted to. In touch with the Halifux first working day to see if i can get what I need, If I can then brilliant. If I cant then such is life.
