Arrived

Looks good. I hope you enjoy it as much as I’ve enjoyed mine (for almost 8 years and 40K).

Only my second ride (166 miles) of the year today, but ferry booked next week.

Get out there :thumb2

I’ve used a fender extender and Cymark engine guard since early days.

High seat. Low pegs. Short screen.

Beautiful bike, health to enjoy. Love the new colour scheme, will be interested to hear what you think of the tubular bars.

Very nice.
What’s the rear seat rack thing you’ve got?

From Sargent https://www.sargentcycle.co.uk/acatalog/r1200rs-2014-on-rear-cargo-carrier.html fantastic build quality.
I have GIVI top box set up as well. But will only use it when touring. I want to keep the bike as neat as possible without adding extra weight or turning the bike into a GS. The BMW bag is 28l, plenty room for my laptop and few bits and pieces. Helmet fits as well and just take it off the bike if in town.

Fitting the number plate splash guard & Avant Guard Engine Protector

Decided to fit the splash guard. Looks are challenging but everyone said it helps.

To fit the Avant Guard Engine Protector you have to take off the small spoiler from underneath the front of the engine. The metal longer spoiler is of a different design.

Next is the MachineArt Mudsling, the Ilberger rear hugger, my old GPS.

I can't belive I just spent almost £400 on plastic + carbon to protect the bike from crap:blast

The 1250R I have seen today looked like a GS which has returned from an off road course:D

The position is slightly forward for me, only 5'8. It's the same ergo like on the 1250R with the Sport tubular bars (there are 2 options on the R, standard bars and Sport). The chap who delivered the bike was a bit taller than me, he almost sits like on a GS. His back is almost vertical. I like a bit of forward lean, takes off the weight from your bum. The seat is soft, I always had a low seat on the GS which is hard. Maybe I splash out on a Sargent.

Could you post a pic of this when fitted from the rear or rear 3/4 shot please?
Don’t know whether to try one of these…. or just bolt a GS shovel on the FD to see if that helps.

Looks nice and relaxed. I have the standard bars with wunderlich risers, think yours is slightly more upright, that's a fantastic looking bike.

Nice new bike - but what is going on in that photo? Looks like you have some kind of mechadroid for a neighbour!

It was from a video clip, I pixeled out the two kids in the background. Weird times. :)

I'm 5'7" and found the reach on standard bars on the RS too much for me so have ended up getting a low chasis GS each time which suits me riding wise but the GS is getting a bit of a handfull moving it about and when coming to a stop so will be intetested to hear what you think of the RS with those bars on :beerjug:

Don’t know whether to try one of these….

Nothing really works 100% according to R1200RS forum even if you add evrthing available on the market, which I will have:blast. But every little helps:D
