In France it's called arobase. I'm not sure if this is just the French name for it or not.

compromise reached dealer has bought back my gs and we reached a heavily discounted figure to get a new one on march 1st .. so heres hoping things go well from here ..

(Ex) Super-Typographer to the rescue...the @ symbol is commonly, specifically and properly known as the 'at sign'. However, when I was taught typography the 'at sign' was just not technical enough, accordingly we were taught to call it an 'arobase'.
