I have just fitted a Garmin 660 mount to my new (to me) 1150 Adv.

When I switch the bike off, the GPS doesn't power down automatically. I seem to remember that it used to do this (and the Nuvi I use in the car does - it gives you an option to stay on, or auto powers-down after 30 seconds).

I have only used it in the garage to test the circuit so far, so it may be that when it has full reception and is in 'steady state' that it will power down as expected. I've been through the option menus and can't find anything - can anybody shed any light on this please?

Thanks,

Mike

have you connected direct to the battery or via an ign swithed live?

if direct to the battery then it wont switch down.

if via a switched live then check the settings on the 660

Hi Slimbo!

It's powered from the sidelamp circuit, so it is a switched supply. I'm unable to find a setting that gives options on power saving - do you know where it might be in a menu?

take it off the mount and it should behave as you expect, if it does then you must have tapped into a constant live supply, if it doesnt must be summitt wrong with your zumo, hth:rob

It worked as advertised this morning.

After a further on line search, it seems that there is a bug that effectively overrides auto power-down if the device is still seeking satellites, which would account for its behaviour in the garage last night...
