Hi everyone
got the autocom connected up yesterday only to find the autocom unit was dead as a doornail. Called Autocom and spoke to a lady for whom ENGLISH was definitely NOT her first language and asked to speak to a member of their Tech Support team only to be told I had to email them, tried explaining that I wished to have a telephone conversation with a technician to troubleshoot the installation but was met with the same response, contact via email only.
She said all technical staff were out so I suggested she contact one of them on a mobile and request he/she calls me back and was met with same response namely they could only be contacted via email. left my details and yes you've guessed it some 24 hours later I am still waiting for a call from Autocom.
Thankfully I contacted CHAINSPEED and spoke to Sam who was extremely helpful and gave me some valuable advice on troubleshooting the installation. as a result of the advice given the fault was diagnosed as water damage to the main board. I called Sam to advise him of the outcome and quoted £125 for a replacement board and said he would call me back in the morning to confirm price and availability.
True to his word Sam called me this morning to confirm price and availability of a replacement board at virtually his cost price, considerably less than price quoted yesterday.
Needless to say I have ordered the part and will continue giving him my business.
I should add that prior to yesterday I had never heard of or dealt with Chainspeed and based on my experience with them so far will continue using them and recommend them to others. Sam is knowledgeable of the products he sells and took the time to share his knowledge to help out, a quality that is unfortunately seriously lacking with some manufacturers and dealers. Autocom Take note.
