Hi All

I have a bike powered logic 1 kit. Connected to this is the Kenwood radio (bike powered) on a PTT and the zumo 550 (bike powered) which I listen to music through. The set up works well, but I now want to use my Blackberry phone bluetoothed to the Garmin. What bits if any do I need to buy and what would the set up be?

1/ Blackberry
2/ Zumo

Bluetooth your phone to your Zumo set the Zumo for phone only (in the B/T settings)
Try that first and see if you get any problems. HTH's

Zumo to Autocom wiring

Here's what you need. You'll pair your BlackBerry to the Zumo. There are two lengths of interface leads available. No difference between the leads shown other than length. Connections for Zumo 550 and 650 are the same.

Two connections - audio in and out, so you'll want parts 2248 and 2245, or the shorter 2244 and 2247.

Forget the prices... there was an increase earlier this year.

Hi Adam

Thanks for that, it's a great help

I have the 2245 currently running from zumo audio out to the logic. I assume the 2248 will plug into the MIC socket of the zumo and where on the logic?

Hi Dave

I've done this, I can hear ok, but the other end can't hear me.

Sounds about right for a Zumo and bluetooth. I have tried about a dozen phones with my setup (similar to yours) and the only one I have found to work is a Motorola RAZR. All manner of Nokia, Sony and other Motorolas do exactly the same as you are getting.

This is exactly the setup I've used, with a Nokia 5800 bluetoothed to a Zumo 550.

Haven't have any problems with the Nokia 5800, yet. Can't think what might be amiss with your setup...

Maybe a poor connection somewhere, maybe on the 2190? :nenau

I had a similar problem with a 660 and a Blackberry. A call to Autocom resolved the problem by exchanging the isolation adapter. It seems there are V1, V2 and V3 versions. I had a V2 and a V3 was needed for a 660. Autocom changed it for free but that was before they went bust.

I appreciate this is a 550 question but maybe the answer is in the same area. Maybe you have a V1 for example.

I have spoken to autocom, and the post by Rocketmoto is spot on.

An Autocom dealer should swap an earlier 2190 for a V3 part... *should*. We have exchanged these, as a courtesy, for some American and Canadian customers, even though the part was purchased elsewhere.

The issue is with transmit volume - your voice into the Zumo, and ultimately over the phone. It is possible to modify a V1 to a V2 by desoldering and re-soldering a couple of chip capacitors, but the V3 will work correctly with either the Zumo 550 or 660.

Sorry... missed your question, before. You are correct.

On the logic, all of the AUX ports are the same, in that they have left and right speaker input (from the Zumo audio out), mic output (from the Autocom to the Zumo mic-in) and earth. This is different (thankfully) than any previous generation of Autocom system. The difference between ports is in their priorities (overrides) in relation to each other. This is noted in the instructions for the Logic that came with the unit, or I can email a copy to you. If you're not connecting any device other than the Zumo, any AUX socket will be fine.

Autocom are sending me a bluetooth dongle, they seem to think it's a better solution.
