The autocom fitting guide suggests using cable ties to attach the switch to the handlebar grips, my bars have heated grips. Has anybody had a problem with that?

Just being cautious (some of you may think silly or worse).

Briefly tryied mine on grips as instructions but have big hands so fitted it on its side against the left mirror arm mount, works a treat :thumb

The LH heated grip tends to go because that's the one that you heave on when moving the bike around and getting it on/off the stand. Throttle rockers can also cause problems. I think you'd be better not tying it on the grip and putting it somewhere else within easy reach.

I've found that putting the PTT button on the clutch pivot is the best place. Sounds weird but you can then operate it with your index finger independently of the clutch. Just try pulling in the clutch, then using your thumb to do anything...

What a brilliant idea! I've got big hands too and the grips on the GS are just wide enough for my hand width, let alone with the autocom ptt.

PTT

I have my PTT button on the left side and have the heated grips on regularly with no issues or problems..... so far:augie

Ian/Dave/Heff, can you post piccies of your setup?

I took mine off, as it was a PITA on the handlebar grips and am looking for inspiration of where else to mount.
