Going to buy the autocom active-rider kit 3 very soon. Does anyone know the best place to buy pricewise, or arerrp's pretty rigidly stuck to.

Also, would you recommend to go with the PTT facility for bike to bike, as you don't always want to tell all the group all that you say??

Suggestions appreciated. Ta. :)

Autocom

If u r using a bike-to-bike facility ALWAYS opt for PTT. As an instructor we tried both systems VOX and PTT, and by far the best system was PTT (less unwanted transmissions, no fear of expletives being overheard by accident , and it gives your ears a break as well!!) Most radios use a form of "standby" facility to conserve power when not transmitting, so this would extend battery life too. Cannot help with prices, sorry, but Autocom are a very good company to deal with (no connection, etc)

Alternative

Before opting for the (overpriced) Autocom system have a look at these.

www.starcom1.com

Quality is equal to Autocom and everything they sell is about 1/2 the price

No connection whatsoever (except the ones to your helmet and bike!!!!!!!!:P)

Sherpa;)
