I have been looking at the Motorbike Adventures website which is very useful, for some devine intervention to cure a problem on my Autocom system.

I have an Autocom Active 7 Smart which has been a great unit and I have it connected to my Zumo 660 and voice prompts etc work very well (Loud and Clear). However the music played from the Zumo is really quiet and poor quality (the sound levels are max for music). If I use both leads of the Zumo into the Autocom through the isolated spliter (the black and red box) which was advised by a friend it causes background noise.

I can also connect to my Phone (Blackberry) fine and hear a person on the phone perfectly but the other person cannot hear me at all.

On the Motorbike Adventures webiste there is a new Autocom lead available specifically for Zumo which is lead 4066 - this seems to be for the exact same problem I have but for later models of Autocom.

i know this is a long shot but has anyone tried it on an Active 7 Smart with any success - if the lead was only a tenner I would try it and not worry if it didnt work but its a fair bit more expesnive than that.

Any advice would be great.

Thanks
Rik

There's an alternative new retro lead (there's a contradiction if ever there was one...) for your Autocom > < Zumo combo here.

Claims to be louder.

Possibly what you're looking for :nenau

I have for sale an isolation unit and lead....if you feel like experimenting with it!

http://www.ukgser.com/forums/showthread.php?t=259747

might be worth having a look at whether these items could fix the issue

t was thinking maybe by using a separet isolater to the red/black box already used it might cure the noise issue?

you also need to check plug compatibility....by the way the actual zumo lead is quite expensive and I was told this was the only way to do it properly when I upgraded from 2610 to zumo!

I think Motorbike Adventures fixed a similar problem for another member of this forum recently - so definitely give them a call or Sam at Chainspeed.

If I understand correctly you have paired the phone to the Zumo. You have plugged the Zumo into the phone port of the Active-7-Smart. You can hear the navigation instructions OK, music is too quiet, and you can't be heard on the phone.

The issue is that the Active-7-Phone port is only 3-pole for mono mobile phones and the Zumo is, I think, set up for stereo mobiles. You must use the right connecting lead.

hope this helps....

Thanks fellas
I emailed Motorbike Adventures but they replied that I will have to upgrade the unit and get a more modern one but I didnt really want to go to a newer "bigger" unit but maybe consider a Starcom Digital system.

However the Lead that Bumpkin mentioned sounds to be introduced to combat this problem so if anyone has used this lead to cure a similar problem let me know.

Thanks for all advice up to now...

Rik
