I'm sure this has been asked before, and I'm still none the wiser....

I've done a swap of bikes ( minus the Autocom) and let the Zumo 660 cradle go with the GTR

And now I have this one , which the Zumo unit clips straight on to. First point is ... What is this mount called ?

Now I've just spliced the Autocom into the switched live, following the excellent tutorial here

http://www.ukgser.com/forums/showthread.php?177368-Hard-Wiring-Autocom-To-GS

And the Autocom seems to be working fine.... I assumed there'd be a loom attached to the BMW cradle to plug the leads in so I can hear directions etc. there appears not to be.

I've done a bit of searching and there's a suggestion you can plug your lead straight into the Zumo , and fool the system to show it's uncradled... trouble is the plug in bit is covered by the buttons on the left hand side of the unit....

Am I missing something ?

Ta :beerjug:

Hi Bryn,

Not touched a BMW version like you have but the garmin version without side buttons has 3 connectors on the loom. From memory theses are 3.5mm stereo jack for audio out, 2.5mm for Mic in and a usb type connector to allow connection of traffic device.

If you want a garmin mounting kit+harness rather than a bmw one (i.e. without side buttons) I think I have a spare kicking around - pm me if interested.

Thanks for that , I had the Garmin mount with the jacks on the GTR and assumed I'd just need to plug the audio in ....will see if there's a way of connecting the Autocom to the BMW mount before I think about changing it..... It's a neat install :thumb

I looked at this in the past with nav 4 but bmw in their "wisdom" have gone down the Bluetooth route so I don't think there is any audio to splice into....

So it looks like a bluetooth dongle on the Autocom would do it then ?

Hi Bryn,

The BT dongle from Autocom should be OK.

Get it from Chainspeed if you can and Sam should be able to confirm that is has the latest firmware on the dongle that will be compatible with the Nav unit.
