I'm searching form a com system and it´s comes to Autocom Logic Kit or the Starcom1 Advanced.

Can anyone give me a feedback of witch one is better, or your experience with yours system.

Thanks

i have had starcom,

used it on a vtec and the rt, now have digital advance on the k1200.

found the unit to be excellent, i mostly went to starcom, cos of advice given around the vox system,

even went to st neots for a check over by the starcom team, as was getting a buzzing sound,

first class service.

I've used an Autocom for around 4 years and its still going strong :clap

Also the tech support is second to none with one of the technicians (GSRich)posting answers to queries on this forum

Haven't used a Starcom so can't comment on their system

another one for gsrich, he also gives advice on the vfr site. great advice and service given:thumb2

Cheers guys, one thing I will say though is that no one on here bar me has used the Logic as they are a new system. One other thing (sorry) I will say in the last two ride magazine tests/reviews done we have always got the "Best Buy" and "Recommended" so this always speaks in many words on who is the best out there. Also with any other tests done worldwide we are yet to be beaten for the last 15 yrs

Rich, in the recent Ride tests Starcom were missing, any idea why??

Anyway, I have an Autocom (as GSRich knows :augie :thumb) and after setting it up correctly I think it's superb. My mate has a Starcom, he bought it in 2007 at the NEC and he has had bits fail already. Also, the cables seem very flimsy in comparison to Autocoms.

I do not officialy know but as far as I/we know Ride magazine got in touch with every comms manufacturer to allow for them to send some of their systems off for the review. So I think only officially Starcom will know the answer to that question.

I have the Starcom and I had to change the rider and pillion headsets because they got wet? Surely they should be able to cope with normal UK weather.

Anyway I replaced them both and during my last trip the pillion one started crackling and playing up again. One of the pins had bent over. I'm not buying more headsets!

So I've bought an Autocom system, as I've only heard good things about them and the connectors seem a lot more robust. I've not fitted it yet so can't comment on the comms quality.

Anybody want a second-hand Starcom going cheap?

Intaride had an advert in the back of that issue, but they also failed to provide equipment for the comparision test against Autocom and the rest.

Draw your own conclusions.

I understand that their radios are excellent, but my Icom sourced from Autocom is still going strong after 8 years!

Had an Intaride Evo system for the last 2 years and have never had a problem with it, the Evo 2 system to be released soon is going to be the most adjustable unit on the market and one of the few true digital units available. I don't work for intaride just a very happy customer and after the way some other major manufacturers (don't know about starcom though) treat customers intaride where a breath of fresh air with genuine customer care and support, 2 years down the line I know I can pop in anytime for free software updates :thumb2
Like any system though abit of common where you site it and how you waterproof it makes a big difference :augie

I have an Autocom system on my GSA, It has been nothing short of faultless, the quality is superb and the reliability is 100% I ride with ear plugs and the volume level is more than ample, (In fact sometimes I have to turn the volume down on my iPod):clap

Jetlag,

You appear to be based in Lisbon. Your local Autocom distibutor is
Mocasmoto

Autocom is one of the best comms systems on the market , so why don't you try something where you can can obtain support locally.

Hope this helps.

I've used Starcom1 for almost four years. I have had conversations with customers via my mobile whilst travelling at 80mph and the customers didn't even lnow I was on a bike!

Having said that the cables are fragile and I've needed several replacements over the period.

Support is excellent though.

I agree, it´s better to get something where you can get support.
I made a call but, right now he only has the Kit 300.
I will wait to see the Logic Kit.

If the choice was between a Kit300 in the half price sale and a basic Logic unit, I would choose the kit300. If I wanted to use mobile phone through a Zumo however, I might think twice, because of the extra interfaces required to manage this properly.
