Aux Socket

Have a look at the offerings from Powerlet.

Powerlet are in America :tears

Yup, such is the way of things.

Two choices:

(1) Contact one of their UK importers

(2) Commission Mark (Mate) Hooter to make you a copy, or a bespoke version.

Failing all the above. Get the bloody drill out. It'll be a doddle. Post pictures and instructional diagrams. They'll make it a sticky :bow

Aldi are currently selling stepped drills cheap enough to try. They cut holes into thin metal without crimping the edges or going oval.

They work really well on aluminium though may struggle on stainless. The advantage of ally is cheap & easy to work so if version one isn't too great you can knock up another in no time.

These might have another option. http://shop.flybubble.co.uk/accessories/instrument-mounts-hang-gliding

What's so wrong with drilling a hole in a panel to put your accessory socket in.
In my opinion if you pick a good place it will look like it should be there, if you put one on mounted on a little bracket it will just look like you've got a nasty aftermarket socket just bodged on somewhere,
When I bought £400.00 worth of carbon fibre fairings for my TLS I didn't think twice about drilling a small hole for a power socket on that, and I think it looks Nice and tidy where it is just in front of the cloks .:thumb

I bought one off somebody on here a couple of years ago who made a batch but I cannot remember who. Stainless steel and does the job well. Search the vendors section?

Hi Stubbs, ive bought a couple of these beauties http://www.ukgser.com/forums/showth...ccessory-Socket-and-Plugs&highlight=DrFarkoff
so im looking for a way of mounting them WITHOUT drilling holes in the plasic tank cover. Although i might have to do that in the end. Its not a problem i did it to my GS before i chopped it in so i know how.

Scroll down.

Enough brackets to start a bracket shop.

Not the right sort? Too expensive (they ain't cheap)

Seriously, make a cardboard template of a bespoke bracket that will suit your purposes. Drop it into the post to Alan 'Mate' along with a description of what you want. He'll no doubt knock you one up.

Your correct...............way too expensive for me.

Cardboard template time.... Or just send mateyboy a picture of what you want. Job's done.

I did something similar when I mocked up a cardboard version of an aluminium plate I needed fabricating to carry two outlet sockets on my GSA. There's a thread on it somewhere.

As Walrus has said, look under the venders section GS 12v power outlet solution, seller w I coyote.
The post explains the bracket and fitting well.
I bought one for my 2010 GS, however you need to file a corner off to make it fit because of a screen bolt.
Ask the seller Paul Sturman to cut it for you. I sent him a photograph of the alteration to the bracket, which is unique to the 2010 models.
Hope this helps.
