......Vision X lights from the boys at Adventure spec.....
Nope, have you thought about the Vision X lights from the boys at Adventure spec. They seem very effective, are small and have a very low draw. How much are the Wunderlichs?
I got rid of mine because I'm not a mug and these things took me for one.
I'm no mug either the Vision X are bloody tough and LED , they use them on rally cars , desert racers and such. They are not cheap though at £90 each but one on main or dip beam should make a big diff'.

, very small ballast that would fit (i think) behind the bracket that is used to support my headlight and technik mudguard. alternatively having seen this ....
I was thinking of something along similar lines. the standard front fender is just shocking for keeping the mud off me and the radiator, so would get some attention anyway.
I've got a spare ballast or 2 to offer up and see how it will all work....![]()
Rushy, you're quite correct, the Vision-X are LED, and at 12v supply draw 1.5amps..... there is absolutely no way a halogen can match that performance.
Arma, I would be careful upping the wattage too, the XC uses a smaller 280watt generator than that of the 650GS/Dakar which uses a 400watt winding.
(2x100w)= 200w
200w/12v= 16.7amps
There is a good chance your over loading the system......
Timpo.
Yes mate, the vision-x have been on for a couple of months.
Using one flood and one spot, i used the inner clamp bolt of my barkbuster hand guards and made a 30mm long spacer out of aluminium, and with a longer M8 screw, mounted the light there.
So, quite high up and outward from the yokes by about 75mm.
Switch gear is a rocker type kill switch mounted next to the clutch lever bracket.
Any pics available please?

are you running both the flood and spot off the same switch so both on together?
