I've just done a bit of wiring on the gsa using the +v on the auxiliary power socket to power a switched relay, so all well and good there. However, in the manual it says power remains for a further 15 after the ignition is switched off. But 15 what? Seconds? Minutes? Hours? Days? Weeks? Etc etc etc...

Just so I know how long power will remain supplied to the coms and satnav and stuff after the ignition is switched off.

Cheers

Hi Paul
I have just wired my Zumo and autocom from the Aux socket on my 2010 gs. The first time I checked it was 15 minutes from ignition off to power off on the equipment the next time it was 30 seconds after the alarm auto armed  The only difference was the engine had been started for the first time and not the second !!!!! All I am sure of at the moment is that the power is always going off on the toys after ignition off:thumb
Not realy a answer to your question but I am trying :D

Mmm. My fuse panel gets triggered off the aux socket and turns off after about 1 min.

Thought that was normal. 2008 GS.

Maybe it changed on the new 2010's then? Buy my manual does say 15. No alarm though so will see how it fairs when I get it all finished off over the next few days. Hard to get it all done quickly as currently looking after my grandfather. This is what I've made anyway.

I reckon it's about a minute on my 2010 R1200 GS between ignition off and the power going off to the aux socket. Haven't timed it but it's definitely not measured in the minutes and it's longer than 15 seconds.

It was a minute on my F800 and it doesn't really seem any different on the new bike.

I reckon it's about a minute on my 2010 R1200 GS

Probably about the same here on a 2007 GS. It's a right pain as far as the Zumo is concerned, especially if you're stopping to fill up or take a picture and don't want the GPS to turn off; you have to wait for that minute to be up and hit + when the power is cut.

Tried to find out from BMW if that time period is adjustable or can be disabled but to no avail. :censor:

I've wired the fog lights on my 04 GS to the aux socket and it cuts out 1 min after the ignition is switched off:thumb2

Well got the brace bar today com Southport Superbikes, and spent about 20 mins fitting the bar and my satnav to the front. Ran the cables back to the relay box and it all works! Power cuts out 1 minute after the ignition too, so maybe the 15 reference in the user manual relates to if there is load like a heated jacket or something? So the relay I have must draw less than the trigger point for anything to be registered. Either way, I'm made up now that's sorted :)

Also saw trebor while I was there, so had a lil chat to the first person I've met from here since sighing up!

Happy days!
