How long is the delivery window from funds put down to keys being handed over,and do any dealers have quicker delivery response than others ??
What prices are being asked for a TE with engine bars and full vario luggage ,again any discount from different dealers ,looking for best deal out there to convince a Honda riding numpty mate to make the change forwards,and no he doesn't use this forum "yet"

Don't mention this forum to him for God's sake or at least until he has one of the new GSs and can make up his own mind about what to believe. There are some 'characters' on here.
From my experience and reading other responses on this subject, typically the dealing revolves around the price of the px rather than discounts. However, stock dealer bikes speced with their initial guess of what will sell best I've seen offered from stock with a new jacket thrown in. Full spec bikes as you describe are selling well I understand so are less likely to be in showrooms waiting to sell.

I was told the following by Pidcocks yesterday:

If I was to go for a custom build (I just wanted heated grips and the engine modes) it'd be a five week delivery.

If I went for one of the 'packs', typically TE as that's what everybody is going for, then about a week as there would be one in the system. A less common 'pack', then one to five weeks.

He needs to decide on what spec/colour he wants then ring around starting with his local dealer

Personally speaking I'd rather wait wait 5 weeks to get one locally than piss around trying to source one slightly sooner from miles away

Put my deposit down 2wks ago,delivery date 21st May.

I was going to have a TE from Pidcocks repeat business being local and they said delivery would be 3 - 4 weeks maybe less however when it came to haggling they let me walk out the door for £35 and there last statement as i walked you won't get a better deal elsewhere, so the following morn one call to david @ Benhams bmw where i previously brought a TC again for less than pidcocks could do it for and not only did they match the price they than beat it so i brought it over the phone and one week later the bike was here.

I'd have preferred to spend local it does generate a bond with your dealer if you ever need warranty work, but in this instance the saving was too good to miss, and its a nice ride to Benhams so ill use em for servicing and everything else.
