I've got a .gif file I'd like to use as my Avatar but it's apparently too big (444k) and possibly too large dimensionally.

Can this be sorted (i.e. trimmed, shrunk) or do i need some software and a better knowledge of kompooturs?

Cheers

Yes, it can be shrunk, but if it's just under half a meg now, it's going to have to lose a lot of something....hopefully resizing it will get it way down but it's very likely you'll have to lose a lot of frames from it (so it may be jerkier, or what it does rather curtailed).

You might have to lose colours (but if its in 32k colours now, taking it down to 256 or even 16 at the size an avatar is might be ok)

If the Gif's on the web somewhere, point us too it and we can have a look.....if not, you can email it to me if you like and I'll see what I can do.

Cheers Fanum.

Having had a look at some of the other avatars, they are a little jerkier and fuzzier and so I can see where the file size goes.

Email on the way and thanks for your kind offer of help.
