AVG Problem

Each time I go for an update, this message (WELL SOMETHING LIKE IT) comes up. "Waiting to download last update, do you wish to carry on?"

Then it starts to update, and leaves the message, "update unsuccessful".

I've tried uninstalling & reinstalling, but still the same.

Any ideas?

Is this AVG free or the paid for version - they get updates from different servers.

Can you access www.grisoft.com in a web browser?

free version, and I can access the site you listed.

Make sure you haven't got your firewall stopping the connection.......look in its list of allowed progs and check it is allowed access.

Firewall has all the correct boxes ticked to allow AVG to do it's stuff.

Just gone into the control panel, then into the "add / remove programmes"

AVG is not listed? Nor are several other programmes that exist.

WTF?

I think my PC is about to die!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Just installed Avast, to stop AVG prompts I've reversed Fanums , and blocked it.

Hope the PC runs OK now
