Removed it the other day and saw that the catch/lock system is not working. Right not the top case is keeping the seat in place, the catch/lock system seems pretty loose and when I press the seat down, the catch is not working. It is working for the front part of the seat though. Can anyone tell me is the catch/lock at the back is supposed to be very loose, or should it be really tight in place (hope I am making myself clear). thanks

Take the tool compartment out, and you'll be able to see the seat locking mechanism that is held in place by one allen bolt. It maybe loose, fallen out, or most likely, the tab/lug that the bolt goes through has broken off. Usually Due to people banging the rear seat into place, or being heavy handed and pushing/pulling the lock housing when inserting the key into the lock.

Wot Steptoe said about possibly being broken; mine is on my 1100. Can still lock the rear on though, you need to get your fingers under the sub frame, feel for the locking mechanism moving (down) when you try to fit the seat, and just hold it in position while pushing the seat down with left hand. Bit awkward, but you get used to it, and it does work...

My 1100's been like that for 8 years, used a couple of strong cable ties......works a treat.

I had the same problem with my 1150 and found nothing loose missing or damaged when I took the tool box out. After a while a found that if I applied a small amount of pressure under the plastic bar that links the front and back seat lock, then tightened it all up, everything lined up, and locked securely.

Did not have the time to check the different solutions that I was given. Will do this week as I am off from work from tonight. Will post once I have found something.

Cheers
