I was recently asked to do a bit of a resto on this R80 basic,
I omitted to take any photos prior to stripping ,but we’ve all seen a tired old bike before
Our starting point,
The crankcase was stripped and vapour blasted,
New main bearings installed and the crank has been refitted

I had to fit a new camshaft as there was some pitting on the lobes

New oil pressure relief piston and spring

New cam followers and cam chain kit

Shiney,

1000 cc barrels and pistons

New oil pump,flywheel bolts etc

Didn’t get any pics as I was heading off to Portsoy straight from work,
But in there we have new guides,valves,springs and rockers
Also the squish clearances have been matched to the 1000 pistons

The original bevel was a little cosmetically challenged

So I rebuilt it into a good casing

Gearbox
Think the bike has been stood a while
