Back to Basic

Have you chopped the dual seat’s luggage rack away from the sub frame? I’ve recently bought a solo seat but I’m not keen on having two luggage racks…

Hi, not chopped, it’s the standard R80GS Basic subframe which is shorted than the standard paralever subframe

very lovely indeed. the only thing I don't like is the tank stickers at an angle rather than straight as a standard bike. all very nice just the same . I hope you have fun on it and get some miles in, it will last a lifetime :okay

I was wondering about the tank stickers as well….. dont look right to me, but it’s not my bike ! (Tho’ I wish it was )

Lovely job again Mikey.

I agree about the tank stickers, they aren’t in the right place on either side of the tank and unfortunately they are under the clear coat. Something to worry about another day, for now though I just want to ride it, and it does go well with the siebenrock kit :D

Coming back to this older thread. I have a similar build underway... using the shortened R80 rear subframe... does anyone know the spacer height for the rear fender mounting bolts?
#3 on the photo below. Can I assume the top surface of #3 is cut on an angle? Looks like it from the parts diagram.

Any help would push things along. I can 3D print a space block.

I’m away from base for the next couple of weeks but when I get back I’ll measure mine up for you. From memory though the top and bottom are not parallel, one side is slanted.

Awesome...Found a photo on line of the spacer block...

Just an update... I was able to order these parts from BMW.
#2 Spacer top (46622331614)
