Bad day

IIRC there was a brake recall to replace a banjo bolt on the brakes for one with a bigger internal drilling to increase residual braking. Perhaps your bike never got it?

Happened to me when a tyre fitter partially cut through the ABS cable. Coming up to a junction braked, nothing, sailed out into the junction but nothing coming. You do have residual braking but when you are used to one finger its feckin useless. The brain cannot diagnose and think fast enough to realise you need much much more pressure on the lever. Thank god you were not hurt.

Update

Well just a heads up, I am now a proud owner of a 2010 DOHC R1200 GS in Black and what a bike it is.

It has all the bells and whistles, ESA ECR and ABS and I love it to bits. Loads more grunt, very stable and that ESA is truly superb, it is a completely different bike to my old one in every way and has only done 4,800 miles.

It came with new Bridgestone battlewings which I am quite please with.

Good times ahead.

Excellent choice :thumb. Glad you're sorted :clap
