WTAF?

“One-way signs have been installed at the entrance to the road and close to the summit.

The route will remain open in both directions for all other users, including cyclists, horse riders and walkers.”

So Mrs Miggins who has been driving her Mini Metro for forty years but is so incompetent that she should never have had a licence is following the blue arrows up the hill and meets a horse & rider (or pack of MAMILs on TdF race reps) coming down. There’s no room to pass. She doesn’t know how to reverse, and has never learnt what the handbrake is for.

It’s never going to end well, is it?

Make it a one way street, or don’t. But don’t do some namby pamby halfway house where nobody knows what to do. The utter, utter wanker that decided on this should be made to do point duty. Knobhead.

Yup, it seems a ridiculous plan on a 'walled' road...just looking at that photo, you can imagine coming out of the road on the right to turn right, up the hill and a cyclist(s) coming down at 20 or 30 mph and...well. It won't end well. Should have just made it one way for all. (Barring pedestrians)

Erm... sorry to disappoint but its completely tarmacked now. I went up it last weekend and it was the dullest road, really not worth going there unless just looking at it. The plaque is interesting.

I may not have known it was one way only .

I think there is going to be some incredible cyclist videos. Especially downhill ones.
It was a real test of bikehood to tackle it uphill especially on a big bike. To start to loose yer brakes ( or in my worse memory ) to have 3 ktm trail bikes following me down om my old dr350 then I stalled it about 100yds from bottom and slid 100yds with my back wheel locked up as the only means of slowing as me front was shit.... I could hear the fookers laughing too
Memories eh!!!!

There are some drainage gully's across the road at regular intervals, so I hope the cyclists have good suspension !
