On the road, for now:-)
Any ideas, I've just fitted one of those stainless screw replacement part bleed nipples into my 1100's rear calliper. Now I've noticed it's got the smallest weep around the banjo. Is this common or does it need another banjo, I wonder if I over tightened it and it knacks red the banjo....
Any replies most welcome:bow:nenau

They are only pennies always replace to be on safe side:Motomartin

There's a small rubber O ring on the nipple holder.
Did you take the old one off the old nipple holder ?

Not a good idea if its aluminium :D

Rub soap on the washer, heat till the soap blackens and let it air cool :thumb

(But I'd always replace aluminium ones - they really crush too much for reuse)

Oh dear

Was there a seal under the larger bolt that holds the nipple?? If there was I didn't see one and I've disposed of the knackered bolt!!!!!
Maybe I'll get one from motoworks?!

At least take the strings off before washing your banjo.

I would just sponge mine.

If it is a Goodrich braided hose there is a good chance the banjo bolt they supplied is slightly too long and it is bottoming out. Either reuse your old banjo bolt (shorter) or fit a thicker banjo washers.

I found this too when I have made up my own hoses and just used an extra washer. Also found better to use copper ones as the aluminium ones can corrode from the salt if used in winter, same goes for drain plug washers.

Well I've been talking to motoworks and they assure me that there is no seal under the insert and it doesn't need a washer!! I still can't stop the weep from the new insert, not too sure what else to try:nenau

I have a copper washer on my insert. There was one on it when I got the bike, so when I replaced the nipple holder and nipple, after the nipple broke off, I fitted a new copper washer. It possibly isn't supposed to have a washer, but the brakes work fine and it doesn't leak.
