Right then,

Fitted new bar risers as below from the lads at http://www.boxer-design.de being this bit of kit
http://www.boxer-design.de/en/rohrlenker_adapteee.htm

which turned up well and good, fitted with ease only to find I now cant turn left as brake line to tight.

So looking for
1. longer S/S braded line at a good price. ( bar to conector at tank front.)
2. How do I bleed a ABS system as dont want to damage the unit in ant way
3. Will provide pics and feedback when I get it all sorted

Cheers

Opps,

Yeah that would help.
2002 GSA 1150R
Today was in touch with Motorworks in Huddersfeild re bits and was told the ADV model has the longest stock items from BMW as factory fit.
So tonight had to measure up the OEM kit as will need to get one made. Approx £50 for same spec. S/S and covered in sheath.

17" is std so I am going for 4"longer ( o how I wish it was that easy ladies ) but should be no issues, only now I have to figure out how I will bleed the system as ABS and all that I dont want to damage.

Will have a look around to see what help I can find on the site.

Does your bike have the EVO style calipers without the servo assistance? If so, it shouldn't present too many problems bleeding the brakes. I just did the brakes on my 99 1150 ( with ABS) with no problems at all. Its easier to do the whole thing with the petrol tank off, it makes access to the ABS control unit. There are 2 bleed nipples fitted here. They can all be bled in the conventional way.

Don't order the brake hose yet -

i've got a longer braided front hose in the garage - i'll measure the length tomorrow and post it here or PM you .

I've a front stainless hose, from master cylinder to junction block - 18 1/2 inches long - any good to you ?

...or you go for the budget alternative, and route the existing hose on the inside of the fork leg instead of the outside. Worked for me. Easiest was to unscrew the right side fork leg at the triple clamp, hold it firmly so it doesn't slide down, pull down, move hose, replace fork leg. Done, in all of 5 minutes, no messing with brake fluid or bleeding.

...........or don't go anywhere with left turns :D

Had the same problem on the 1200 with Nippy Norman's bar risers. I did not really want to start replacing/bleeding brake lines on a brand new bike.

I applied YoYo's solution withouth the forks loosening. Can't speak for the Adv but on the 1200 you just have to release the brake lever/reservoir assembly and carefully feed the whole lot throught the gap. It was a tight fit but just managed it. The brake hose no longer tightens up when moving the steering to the left although the hose rubs on the top yoke now. I slit about 6" of clear tubing open lengthways and used it to reinforce the section of brake line rubbing on the yoke. I am not completetly satisfied with this solution but it'll have to do until I can come up with something better - i.e. an identical but longer length of braided hose.
