Welli have decided to change and go into the world of technology and get a contract phone and upgrade from my 10 year old phone.

Looking for about 300 + Texts and 300min + talk time , the internet i can give or take.
Budget about £30 a month.

Could do with a new laptop or TV thrown in. (although not free i know but maybe a good deal)
Not that fussed about the phone as long as it rings. All others like games i don't want.

Network not bothered.

just noticed grammer, a cup of coffee on it a month a go has taken its toll especially on the space bar

Anyone got any reccommendations. Yo can hack throgh the sites bt in the end its like a mine field. Rather get peoples opinions:)

Coming to the end of my contract with O2 and have started the process of looking around for a new deal - agree 100% - it's a mine field out there cap'n!

You say you are not bothered about the network. Do give it a little thought - coverage varies area by area plus remember same network calls are usually free handy if you sign up to the same one as your friends and family which would mean your monthly allowance would not be affected.

Do pick a phone that you are comfortable with - I cannot get on with the key-board of a BlackBerry - sausage fingers :blast

What I have done is narrowed it down to the phone I want/like and have narrowed it down to the HTC Desire S then try and get the best provider. I have yet to find a "Plan B phone" is this one does not work out - still looking

For your £30.00 you might get the "gifts" that you want but check the length of the contract. You want something like 300/300 and that amount is usually less than £30.00 which might not let you get the "gifts" but such things can be bought these days quite cheaply now if you look around.

I will keep an eye on this thread - might pick up some ideas as well :thumb2

Signed up to 3 all you can eat with an iphone4 in February.

Unlimited internet access did it for me and tethering to my laptop too...

If you click through from Topcashback, you get £107 back as well.... it paid out last month...:thumb

Got rid of home broadband and landline so made savings there too....result!

Had to negotiate - but got my daughter a deal with T mobile. White i4 with 600 mins/unlimited data and texts over 18 months for £30 a month.

If you're on a contract which is ending dont contact your providers customer service. They are very limited in what they can offer, Instead contact the disconnections department and ask them what can they offer to make you stay. You can negotiate with these people and they will try to keep you as a customer. I got the phone I wanted free (HTC Desire), 300 min, unlimited texts and 500mB internet useage for £10 per month. Only slight downside is its a 2 year contract, but even so .........:augie

Good Lordy - this must qualify as the most helpful post of the year :thumb2

May one enquire as to which provider?

Off to find out the contact details for disconnections dept and see what they can do

:jager  :beerjug:

currently on Orange but I've done it before on O2 and Vodafone. Just ring customers service and when you hear the option "if you're thinking of leaving us press ....." thats it :clap

I can vouch for this as have recently got the same deal. iPhone creates a hotspot with unlimited usage. Either wireless or through USB connection. Extremely simple and I've noticed faster speed than anything Virgin ever provided me. Plus 2000 minutes cross network and as many texts as u like.
Downside is some areas the 3 signal aint too strong. Do a coverage check through their website. :thumb2
