Well under a sheet behind the house find

The owner of A&D Alan is getting on a bit and having a clear out, this was under a cover at his house almost brand new Griso 1200 with only a couple of hundred miles
Its now in the workshop and I am going to document the reconditioning on my channel

It looks better in the pics than it does in reality so will need a fair bit of work and the big job of rollerisation

beautiful bike and looks good in the 'white' and black colour scheme . any idea why such a bike was just abandoned for so long ? looking forward to seeing it get some lovin :okay :beerjug:

Is Alan’s original Katana still for sale? Last time I was in the showroom it was about £17k

Nice one. Looking forward to the videos. When your done, I’ll bring my reddy/orange 2016 Griso SE down your way for a photo or two.

rollerisation ....
there might be a problem with that !
i was chatting with my spare parts girl ,
the older kit A ? is NLA

the newer kit B ? also seems to be NLA
if not NLA then in very short supply , he will have to hope someone has 1 in stock @ £1100 for the kit.

they aren't worthless without the kit , but i would buy in a spare set of flat tappets for the future.

kit C may be available , but is needlessly expensive , because it contains a load of head gaskets that you never need .

flat tappets will die , i have seen them last to 50k miles , with people who use them for touring , BUT in London they last alot less .
IME
Griso , 3- 10k
1200 Sport , 6-15k
Stelvio , 10-50k
Norge , 10-50k

worst case , i think you could modify a carrier to take roller tappets , but i haven't tried myself.

I had heard some of the Kits were NLA - I will talk to the guys there who are doing the work, do you have any info on the carrier mod ?

i was asked for a kit this week , and looking at you pictures , i just wondered whether it could be done ?
i'll have a look and see , i have some of the old carriers fitted and i'll have a measure up and see what is possible .

My local dealer has one up for sale for £5250 ish, which I think is a bit steep. Same colour and about 3000 miles.

Gearbox paint coating looks awful.

A mate had a V11 LeMans that had to have the engine and gearbox repainted by Guzzi under warranty after only a year.

Looking forward to seeing the results.

i think they may underestimate the effort on this one TBH
